I think in 2 out of the 4 pitches, the entrepreneurs would have done much better for themselves if they had watched the show. Food truck ladies - everybody who presents a successful business and then wants the money for something else gets slaughtered - e.g. episode 1x1 and the College Foxes Packing Boxes business. Photo booth guys - if they had seen the pitch from episode 3x10 from the custom shoe design guy they would have known to shut their mouth about the 100k salary.
Food truck ladies - it was so predictable what was going to happen when they said they were going to open a restaurant.
Movie guys - rofl @ this trailer, it looked like a youtube intro video made by a 16 year old.
Bike lady - I think Marc and Barbara will bring it to the other bike company they invested in from episode 3x13 - the customizable bikes. I think she will do very well.
Photo booth guys -terrible negotiation skills. They should have snap-called the deal from Cuban.

Btw, I wanted to see the movie which Daymond said he was a producer of. At first I thought it was The Crow (7.6 IMDB) and I was surprised by his comment because I liked it, but then I realised it was actually The Crow: Wicked Prayer (2.8 IMBD)

yea thats what i thought i was like wait a minute wasn't "the Crow" a successful movie that has a cult following. I guess i know why now he lost that money.

Anywho of all the products i didn't see any of them worth investing. The only okay idea i saw was the Bike. But a $100 training bike for kids. No offense i rather just go through the trouble of buying a regular bike for that price or lower and train him the old fashion way. Because if i did it there way i would have 2 buy 2 kids bike for 1 kid. Yea probably some people who could afford it would do it but its probably a limited market.

lol at photo booth guys not snap accepting a deal from Cuban. Really makes me wonder how they ever got the business actually running.

Dennis Hopper
Tito Ortiz
Tara Reid
Emmanuelle Chriqui

I really like that photo booth idea but rather then set up a price. I would rather set it up for free and then charge per photo. I'm going to look into this and try and set something up area here. Lots of events, birthdays, ect always going on.

If it's a sequel to The Crow it's probably because The Crow was a pretty good movie . Also had decent success iirc.

O'leary spotting in Boston for the Bruins game on Monday. He was loungin it up before the game at a local bar where my gf works. She was serving their table and said he was real nice and funny (also insanely short) and like the only guy in the group with a suit on and not a Toronto jersey. I saw him taking pictures with some people but waited too late as he was shutting people down on his way out.

As for the show this week lol @ food truck women for not at least asking to see what kind of deal they might be able to get for adding more trucks and not doing the B&M. The movie guys weren't even lolbad entertaining and was pretty surprised they put that on the show. As someone else said wtf @ Photo guys for not snap accepting Cuban's offer, or at the least counter offering Barbara to not have to pay her the salary. I do think Barbara is probably better for that business than Cuban, although it might be pretty close bc of his sports team/arena etc.

was their only 1 episode last friday? i thought I heard there were back to back but I only had 1 on my DVR. This friday season finale then?

seemed like they were a little too hard on the food truck ladies, i hate when 1 shark has a strong objection and every other shark immediately starts parroting the same objection. the pivot from truck to B & M was certainly questionable but it wasn't like the girls were total noobs, they seemed to have a solid amount of exp in the industry.

the movie trailer was obv ridic LOL but it seemed like the sharks didn't totally understand that none of their money was actually at risk until the guys went out and got the script/actors/etc and the shark then signed off on it.

good episode only saw two interesting ideas i liked.

I like Tom+Chee numbers sound great might be worth investing in a franchise in the philadelphia area.

verbalizeit seem like a pretty good idea might be useful if your visiting a foreign country. I actually know a 2nd language i wonder if i can sign up to be a translator.

it had to happen. Cuban was offering more overall because of his connections.

tom and chee looked great and i can see it being a huge hit in most major cities.

Yeah I'm from Cincinnati and Tom and Chee is awesome..I've driven ~20 minutes from our suburb with my family to get there and it's well worth it. Will be one of my first few stops when I'm home next month. I hope the national exposure/partnerships/investment helps them take off, because their food is great.

Interviewed w/ VerbalizeIt for VP Marketing role here in NYC a couple months ago (after this episode was taped)... they're pretty savvy guys and the startup is a graduate of TechStars. I thought their show valuation of $1MM was absurdly low, I know they had previously raised almost $2M (on a val of $6-$8) in their first venture round. Would be very surprised if this deal went through.

The app was a bit buggy last time I used it but they have translators clamoring to fulfill that side of the marketplace. When I talked to them they had started to pivot their model away from the consumer side and more towards the enterprise side which I concluded was not as interesting from a marketer's point of view (the role had shifted from customer acquisition into more business development).

So how is it going to work in a business environment? I can't imagine a serious business meeting where someone will take his phone or laptop out, dial a 19 year old college drop-out, who works for $7/hour, and ask him to translate for him. I actually liked the consumer-side of the business, even though I hated the guys.

consumer side would definitely make more business. Imagine the amount of travelers that would use this.

my wife's best friend used to date one of the owners.. She said the deal did not go through. I think O'Leary wanted to sign off on the deal that night and the guys wouldn't do it because they wanted to talk with their lawyer before signing. If you go to their website and click on the shark tank link nothing happens.

i feel like there will be tech that puts verbalizeit out of business soon, if it doesn't already exist. no?

I would imagine this could be coming soon. On the other side of the coin, people like the idea of talking to real humans and not a computer.

only way i would invest in VerbalizeIt is if I already had assets that I could add to the deal, luke Cuban does. Otherwise I dont think it is a great deal.

The Grilled Cheese is interesting, I think it would be tough for me unless i really loved the biz and knew the guys were killer businessmen, which they did not appear to be.

I would not be surprised if Barbara somehow makes a big return off of the dog food biz. She is the only Shark who might put in the work that it needs to be successful.

Google translate works alright for Spanish. Not sure about other languages though. Can't see there being a need for this company in 5 years.
