O'Leary takes the " always get the best of it" too far. Cuban usually doesn't swallow up all the person's equity or ridiculous royalties, he actually wants the person to keep working hard and having a larger chunk of the business.

O'Leary is just air, once he opens his mouth to make an offer you know it's a poor/unfair one. Too predictable, too lame.
He's there to play a character only.

O'Leary's good but his persona is starting to get worn out...

Cuban is the best shark for the show. I'm not a huge fan of Cuban's personality but I give him a lot of credit for what he says and for calling out the other sharks. He seems to genuinely have good intentions, compared to O'Leary, Mr. "All I care about is 'How do I get my money back?'"

Cuban: "No, cuz I don't waste my time on millions of dollars, its gotta be bigger than that."

the kinetic energy harvesting: if his claims were true (cost equivalent to coal) he would be getting swamped with offers from big energy/VC. 2m is nothing for legitimate cheap, clean energy.

simplest explanation says that something in his pitch is not truthful. could be not owning the patents he claims to, could be his claims going forward, etc but it's just too unlikely he's legit and looking for investment on shark tank.

Probably the most awkward and cringe-worthy episode of the whole series.

I just watched it on a popular streaming website.

watching episode now on canada TV. The coffee guy was uber friendzoned. Probably invested the money with this chick to be able to bang her later on...

Gumbolaya- I think they are going to sell a boat load of it.
Kevin finally showed a little heart; Hard not to root for some people

cutting board-nice product but blah investment, nice begging job-NOT!
coffee-eh would try, they were kinda annoying to me
squirell shocker- funny, how has he sold so many of these?

Robert is really worthless these days, hes gotta go even
though I have always like him before this year.

I hope they actually invested in Gumbolaya lady and not just did it for the show. She seemed nice with a great product but not great business sense.

I know we complain about him every week but Robert's predictable nittyness is REALLY annoying.

seemed like they got a ridiculously good deal on the gumbo. basically sounded like a freeroll once they fill that one order from costco. when that lady walked in I thought there was 0 chance she was getting a deal, she was impressive.

i am shocked the bird feeder guy had sold as many as he claimed, $50 seemed like a really high price point for a bird feeder, how much are normal ones?

what do you guys think of people like the coffee kids who give up extra equity to work with Cuban. I think wanting him for his "SEO skills" as the girl mentioned is pretty ridiculous but it would obviously be way better to develop a relationship with Cuban than Kevin. It sorta seems to me like if they are willing to give up the extra equity it shows a little lack of confidence in their business, like they don't expect that one to be a home run but they want the relationship with Cuban for when they come up with their next idea.

Kevin comes of as a someone I wouldn't want to be in a partnership with. I think they could've got an extra 10-15k from Cuban for the increased equity but I'd prob still prefer the deal they made than working with Kevin

eh i agree but I also think its tough to really know, since his "personality" on the show seems to almost be just a character that he plays at this point. it could be that kevin is a far more accessible business partner than cuban, cuban seems like he has A LOT of stuff going on.

that entire article was awful. pretty sure it's not news to anyone that some deals don't make it through due diligence.

the gumbo company just shows why she should have just kept selling gumbo on the corner/food truck/wherever. the big mistake was trying to go into the biz that she is in now. she gave up half her company if they even do the deal, and besides the money probably will not contribute that much.

i would never work with Kevin so giving up a little more to get Cubes seems standard to me. if you remember the Netflix for toys biz, they made some veiled statements that dealing with Kevin was not worth the investment.

the squirrel thing seems like it could have a niche but never get big.

the wood kitchen products guy was interesting. nothing wrong with grovelling, i just think he needs to find the highest margin items and make them until he is sure the big investment in machinery will have at least the required amount of demand.

coffee of the month -- i just got a bad feeling. wouldnt have done that deal.

i thought the gumbo company was a good deal for the sharks and not a real good deal for her ,i could only imagine with sales bump and recognition from being on the shark tank she will probably be able to get into every costco she wants .

I wouldn't want to be partners with someone who made 100k last year and is now homeless. Seemed like the perfect business for Kevin to buy out and pay a royalty.

From what I got form it Lori and Kevin made the deal with her to seriously overhaul/ put ppl in place to run the company for her.

Quick questions, has anyone ever ordered ice cream from the company/companies that have been featured on the show? Im interested in shipping, the state it arrives in.

that was my understanding too. when you're "making $100k" but not paying 6 employees you're not making a damn thing.

that said, if they scale well it could be a moderate success. it sounds like the product is popular.

Hence the reasoning for the sharks to get 50% - no more money going to cousins, uncles, aunts, and nephews.

The cutting board guy was way too desperate for his business to be as profitable as he claimed.
