Lori knows whats up though and I think she has a plan.

Geek Chic, very cool table. Like how the guy wanted to work with Damon and pushed him to try and up his offer after Robert came back in.

Jones Scones. felt like the owner has personal issues that have held the biz back even though he has been selling these things for a while. I wouldnt trust him with my money.

Luggage guy -like the idea for a segement of frequent fliers but the competition is tough. Lots of challenges.

Overall not too crazy about any of the ideas on this weeks show.
has this episode still not aired in the US?

Shotgun shell bobbers were whatever. Though the guy was smarter than I first assumed, given the product.

Kevin finally caught a fish with his sucker deals, and now will bleed that cupcake business dry with his absurd royalty and their already small margins.

The kinetic energy harvester is definitely interesting, and has some big potential even if its a long shot. I thought it was funny no sharks even gave it a whiff. They are more content to do small deals that can more easily take advantage of the shark tank publicity I guess. Can't say I blame them.

The belt idea seems pretty ingenious. I definitely think I'll be buying one.
pretty much agree with everything here. cupcake ladies were apparently clueless about business. didnt their revenue numbers suggest kevin would be getting his money back in like 6months or something ridic? how do you accept an offer that all the other sharks are outright telling you is an awful deal? with that said i really wish the sharks werent allowed to talk once they are out.

I used to think Robert got more hate than he deserved but he is ****ing pathetic at this point. Has he made 1 investment this season? He is soooo predictable.

agreed. I loved the belt guy and his product though. That was one of the first pitches I've seen where I've been like wow I would immediately give this guy the full asking price myself.

That episode aired last week or the week before.

I really wish they would get rid of Robert. I thought he was a nice guy early one but he is a huge dick. Never wants to invest in anything, always puts down products and isn't willing to negotiate at all.

Either from late last season or this season he pulled an offer because they wanted to see if there was any other offers on the table or to make a phone call or something like that...WTF man...

good episode. i find it strange that a guy like cuban isnt even interested in doing due diligence on the energy stick. i think it is because he has certain heuristics he uses to screen entrepreneurs for biz-savvy and this guy didnt pass. i doubt any of the other sharks are willing to make a 2m investment.

love Cuban helping out the belt guy. he was saying "i love this guy" purposely to induce daymond to do the deal. then he stayed in to get him a better offer.

also good deal by cuban on the sell bobbers. Robert is such an idiot.

Almost all alternative energy tech is dumb.

No power and expensive as hell. I'm sure it'll get better eventually, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.

Daymond "why do you put such a high value on that?"

Cuban "You spent more money on that last night on cocktails!"

Daymond "So?"

Great episode. I agree it is time to replace Robert with someone who might actually strike a deal.

When Daymond ripped on Cuban for paying too much for the shell deal I said to my wife 'Daymond can't rip on anyone, he's never had a successes story update.' 10 seconds later, they're showing one on his fitness video being a mega success. Good timing for his first one that I can recall. Then he hooked up with the belt guy, which will probably do well also.

there have been other Daymond success stories. eg EZVip with Pitbull segment.

however my guess is that the "success stories" are probably some balance of feelgood stories and pay-for-play. if there is a heart-tug angle then the producers put it on for free. if not they probably want some small chunk of equity for more airtime.

also if you listen to the success stories closely, often times they arent exactly successes.

.
I really doubt this given that the producers have supposedly not even exercised their equity option in most cases and by update time the sharks have some skin in the game.

I think they just do the updates to help legitimize the show-proving that real deals are getting done and people are having success after coming into the tank. Maybe also to fill awkward amounts of leftover airtime.

You might be right, but why wouldnt they take additional equity options for more airtime?

This isn't true he has had actually maybe the most updates. Off the top of my head he had the girls designer jewelery, the VIP service guy, the stickers with LED lights that he got in Best Buy, and the workout update. I can't make the claim that there have been more but I have a strong feeling it has been the case.

Strangely, I think Cuban has had the least amount of success updates, the only thing that comes to mind is the surfboard exercise thing

I made a list with all the updates on the show and whose deal it was. Some updates might be missing, but that will be only because they are not listed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._Tank_episodes. If the episode description doesn't say there was an update during it, then the update is missing. I noticed the Teach-Shakespeare guy is missing, he got a deal with all the sharks. There might be some mistakes, but it seems accurate to me.

Barbara with 19 updates, Cuban 9, Daymond 8, Kevin Harrington 8, Lori 4, Robert 4, O'Leary 2.
So I think this just confirms that Robert and O'Leary are just useless. On the show since episode 1x1 and no updates (which reflects pretty well the number of deals they do).

kevin o'leary is the reason this show is awesome.

If you see him as the show's host rather than a shark, then yes.

Thanks for the update and clarification. I don't think I've seen a lot of those older episodes so I missed some of Daymond's successes. Further confirmation that Robert needs to go asap. I like Kevin, but agree that he's more host than shark.

I feel Daymond is softer when it comes to "wanting" to be the sole owner of a product. Willing to make deals with other sharks often when he doesn't really need to do so. It's also kind of insane Harrington hasn't been on in seasons. Yet has significantly more updates then two sharks who are on every episode.

Kevin's job is mostly MC/host and to give some entertainment value with his remarks. Some episodes he comes out with some pretty funny stuff although most likely pretty scripted.

One of my fav shows on TV for sure though...

This is really as awesome show but I think Cuban is much more valuable to the show than Kevin O'Leary. Now only is he a bigger headliner, but he has a better personality and gets involved more in the deals. His negotiation and business tactics are more interesting to watch than O'Leary just pushing a horrible and useless royalty on every person knowing himself that they won't take it. I am shocked when these investors consider his offers.

cuban definitely isn't what most would consider to be charismatic.

not sure why he acts so smug about the fact that he's jerking a guy around for a significant chunk of his net worth.

it's almost like he's trying to be funny. kevin actually has good comedic timing, even if his royalty sthick gets old fast.
The Shark Tank Quote

O'Harrington was pretty darn good +1 whoever said he needs to be on again

seemed like a smart guy

I was cracking up pretty hard at whatever the conversation was amongst the sharks while the chicks were going to discuss kevin's sweet deal...I like O'leary for comedic value but I do think his shtick is getting kind of old with the royalties
