I just thought the couple at the end were completely delusional about the amount of product they could ever hope to sell. I think they could have been successful(relatively) being a very small niche business with no additional funding.

I'm sure girls do wish they had a place to store ID/CC when they go out, but the product they designed just wasn't that useful.

You couldn't wear it with jeans and/or other pants
You couldn't wear it with short dresses/skirts
You probably wouldn't wear it with tight dresses or skirts.

So basically the product works with one specific type of clothing(not short, not tight dresses).

Girls do everything they can to avoid lumps, lines, etc when they go out to a bar or club. The idea that they want a big square device on their thigh just seems like very wishful thinking.

And they're going to sell 200,000 of them? wtf

I figured it out. The episode they aired the day after Thanksgiving was the final episode of season 3.

I don't think its even remotely improbable for them to sell 100-200K of these things. People buy tons of crap like this all the time (especially women!), even if they use it once or twice a year or never.
This is a front register $20 item many women would impulsively pick up when checking out with $400+ of other items....or something random they buy off the web after seeing it on TV (shark tank) or seeing one of their friends show one off.

Not saying it was something even near worth investing in based on the reality of who they are and what they had/offering, but I have a feeling had it been different people pitching this same product with different numbers they might of been made an offer.

to be fair, the people/product are pretty irrelevant with "different numbers"

To clarify, by "numbers", I meant different equity offer/valuation of their company. A $100K evaluation for example, which the sharks could chop at.

Not necessarily their sales (revenue).

It is looking like the producers are allowing more idiots on to the show than in the past. I much more enjoy a good presentation and bidding war with the sharks than a cringeworthy fail like Fat Ass.

They are taking the American Idol tact of mixing in a few loonies that never should have made it past the first line of judging.

I wish they'd take the American Idol tact of airing 2 shows a week. Friggin love this show. How do I watch that Canadian show?

I just watch them all on YouTube...

I am sure it's a bit of finding entertaining/cooky people to just put on the show (I mean they are in the business of TV entertainment), but I would have to imagine there is just a very small ratio of actual successful businesses or amazing inventions out there that come through at the same time.

Probably weed through tons of people just trying to get on the show for advertising and not wanting to even do a deal vs. total morons who actually want a deal but have no viable business.

I had to give a 25 minute presentation this morning for uni. Last night, Kevin O'Leary came to me in a dream and told me I'd rock it.

I got my results back a couple hours later... top marks.

I only watched the first episode. Listen to it on YouTube (I watch about 10-20% and listen to the rest, while doing other stuff).

lol i was excited to watch the new ep after reading the thread because someone said the girl at the end was hot. I was massively disappoint.

And while I don't like the business, I actually really like the girl as a person. You can tell she's a hustler and a go getter. She's ambitious and probably a hard worker.

if I were starting a company, I'd want a partner like her assuming she'll at least listen and follow my direction.

I didn't think she was hot at all.

I love how she currently values her company based on 200,000 units sold... ONLY 199,800 MORE TO GO!!!

Also, idea wasn't too bad. Product could sell.

She'll make way more in pharmaceutical sales though.

Totally disagree, she was horrific. I would walk out of a meeting she was pitching in.

She is the worst kind of partner because she's not open to learning and growth. Great founders are sharp but even moreso obsessed with learning. She thought she knew it all when in reality, as Cuban proved, she knew nothing.
