Seems like a cool invention and hope they make lots of money, but yea I don't see this being a huge success.
I predict:
Robert thinks "its cool" and his kids will think "its cool" and he might even toy with investing just to "be cool" but he'll throw out a real nit offer, and pout when they don't snap accept, and then he'll recant his offer when they entertain other investors.
Kevin will try to steal the company, and ask them "whats proprietary" about it and why cant he just go to China and make them for 50% less and squash them like a bug.
Damon will be out either really quick, or not say anything at all and be out last, again, without saying anything at all.
Mark will say something kind of savvy and offer a quick pro business tip about why he is not interested although he likes the invention and be out.
Barbara/Lori will buy it.
Why would Lori buy it? It's not like it's going on QVC. I can't see Barbara getting involved either. My guess is zero deal.

there was a somewhat similar product on canadian dragons den called the uno; albeit positioned for the more serious transport/motorbike market rather than the leisure market... and it got competition and a big deal
i mean whether it gets a deal probably comes down to numbers etc, but there is a little precedence here
Pretty awesome...only one of a few clips/shows i've seen of DD but again it is nice to see the investors just get straight to the point and come off as real people in a real situation, not changing their behavior because it's a TV show. I find myself wishing Shark Tank was like that but I guess it kinda comes with the territory of being a mainstream U.S. show and having to create that 'drama' and action.
That Uno guy seems like I saw him on the show with some other idea.
Surprised that guy even got a deal, but it's a numbers game and it's replacing a motorcycle and in crowded areas it seems like it could work. A unicycle, im not sure.
I remember originally seeing this on Dragons Den and I've been loosely following the invention.
The kid is now on his 3rd model and it can transform into a motorcycle while in operation for road driving. And based on his promo videos it seems he did move out to Boston.
My friend and freshman year roommate was on the season premiere a month ago. What did you guys think of the Coat Chex? He was the guy that rejected the offer from Marc Cuban.
super bad reject imo. But I'm nitty. I'm taking guaranteed money and help (from cuban) everytime. He hasn't tested the market. I didn't even like the idea that much to begin with. I don't think the current system is that bad.
I believe the only reason she was put on the show was because she is a recovering alcoholic, leading to my thinking they were exploiting her to create an image of sympathetic, and caring individuals instead of cold, business driven for the sharks. Basically it humanizes the sharks making them more relate-able to the general populous who can't really relate to them. I'm not saying it's the first time they have done this. (every episode seems to have someone with inner struggle they heighten) It just to me felt worse doing it with a recovering alcoholic.

Reason: There is always the chance I am overthinking this all.
It depends on what she told them during casting or whatever their screening process is called. In her teaser video she mentioned difficulties but didn't say what they were. There's no way the sharks were stoked to find out the truth. Kevin was quite upset iirc
I do wish the producers would stop letting on so many business owners who come to the sharks too soon. I'm getting semi sick of hearing them turn down offers b/c the biz is too young.
Yeah, your right that is possible and Kevin did seem upset. It's also possible they knew all along and edited it to add suspense to the commercial break as the group was asking her what was wrong.
Also for that Scrubbing product was it better what are peoples thoughts on him taking Lori's deal.
lori's deal was for the exact valuation he came in at
imo she would have got the offer without changing her $100k for 30% stake. it was a qvc product and she was the perfect shark for it. was ridiculous the way she kept dropping.
