Well, if you really want to discuss it....I was implying there are much more sophisticated products in the home market currently, however, there is only one very simple selling point as you mention, that his does, that their product does not.

This guy has the equivalent of an app which can control users, and with remote blue tooth access from a cell phone allow you to not have to punch in a 4-digit code and open your front door within a range of distance...Instead of 4 buttons to push in you just have one, similar to single push starting your car if you bought a luxury vehicle within the last 5 years.

That is really the only difference we are talking about:

Pushing 1 button on a keypad which requires you to have your phone within a certain range.

OR

Pushing 4 buttons as a code on a keypad, which does not require your phone what so ever, however, if you have your phone handy you could have turned down the air in your house, turned on the lights, and unlocked the door for yourself while still a mile down the road and driving.

Theres also the ability to grant temp access which was very cool that you couldnt do with the keypad option, unless you want to change your password every time

this part isn't exclusive to the keypad version.

i personally agree that the keypad version is better, but it's not hard for a decent salesman to convince not-so-tech-savvy users that the unikey version is more convenient. they'll already have paid for and installed the lock before they realize it's unnecessarily draining their battery (assuming it uses a bluetooth app as has been mentioned earlier in this thread). i don't doubt, though, that the battery issue will be eliminated in the near future with a more convenient identification method.

that's not true. there are keypad versions that allow temporary access codes that will work only within a certain timeframe or as a single-use code.

People should pitch lots of treadmill ideas to Robert..

I see him several times a month at my local gym in Toronto, Canada, he runs alot on the treadmills... One time he got mad at me because he left his blackberry behind, and I gave it to one of the gym attendants, he must have thought I was stealing it, lol

He lives in the richest area in toronto where houses go from 5-15mill~

I believe his house used to be the most expensive house in all of Canada.

Still can't afford his own treadmill, though.

The lock guy could make a fortune just off hotels. Basically you would have to allow your phone to connect with your hotel via some sort of location service, and then they could check you in automatically when you walk in the door, text you your room number/special code to activate your phone as key, and you could go straight there instead of dealing with the counter.

No brainer for new hotel construction, and should be included every time a hotel gets redone.

the Remyxx guy shows how challenging the show can be... the panelists said he was crazy for asking for $50k (not enough), yet if he asked for $200-300k they'd call him crazy for his valuation.

And since you can't walk away with less money than you asked for, it's better to choose the smaller number with less equity and explain that you're willing to give up additional equity.

Robert looked good tonight for some reason. Normally he looks like a pasty dweeb, but tonight he looked tan and fit.

Robert's hair looked awful to me. The way he's parted it back makes him look like a douche.

i think beddy bugs was one of the best products in the shows history and that they sold way too cheap. didnt the price they sold at totally contradict another offer that they said they had already turned down? getting all 5 sharks is nice but given that the sharks had to pretty explicitly collude to make that price happen it seems very likely they could have gotten a much better deal.

The price they were offered was much higher than their valuation in the tank. They took the chance that their business will be more profitable in the long run than the immediate $5m payoff. You can see all the sharks go crazy when they said they turned it down. most ppl would take the money and be nits, but they obv believe in their product. Interested to see how they do.
