Setting up an affiliate program Setting up an affiliate program

Hi,

I have often seen information posts here so I figured I would try to post this here. If there is a better place for this you are welcome to move the thread, or if someone could point out a more appropriate forum for this question.

I am setting up an affiliate program for my company, which is expected to launch next January.
We have done some analytical work and have come up with the % of revenues the affiliates would get.

My dilemma is the following. I am trying to figure out what would be a more attractive options for affiliates.

What is preferred:
a)Get Increased % of revenues if your customer spend more money, e.g. you would get a higher % if all your customers would play for more than x,000$
b)Get increased % if you have more paying customer in the month, independent of how much they play for.

On other matter.
c) Do you think it is more attractive to get one payment for each paying customer in a "refer a friend" program rather than % of revenues?
Hope I can get some discussion started

What are you selling?

I'm going to assume here btw that we are talking about an online affiliate program.

Quote:
a)Get Increased % if ..........
Do you even need to offer a % increase? The conversion of your offer needs to be good! Bonus or not, you won't get any traffic unless you have a competitive converting affiliate offer. Make sure you find the perfect balance between 1) payout and 2) conversion. Start your program, analyze the data and start tweaking these two things.

This depends on what you are selling.

This depends on what you are selling.
It is a new online gambling game. The commission structure is somewhat similar to poker.
We have thought of both a flat rate and increasing. As it stands now we are leaning towards having a simple structure with flat rate on referrals. The affiliate rate would be increasing (either a or b as described).
Do you think a flat rate is more appealing?

Our thinking is that flat simple system ia more appeling for referrals as they tend not to go for high volume of players but affiliates would be more inclined to do so.

I dont have any experience with gambling offers but I checked two affiliate networks and I saw only CPA campaigns (payout ranging between $1.20 and $112). Perhaps you can check on Odigger.com to see if you can find competing advertisers.

You might also want to check out the other affiliate thread in this subforum, OP says he is a large affiliate in your vertical.
