semi-accepted sale on craigslist, how can i un-do it
So I had a sectional listed on craiglist (I have since taken it off) for $25 and had 5-6 tell me they wanted it. I need to get rid of it by next wednesday, when the new sectional comes in. FYI- it is a really nice sectional but has two large cuts one of the the cushions (the largest cushion and no it can't be turned over).
I call the first lady that replied and tell her it is all hers. She says she doesn't have a truck and asks for me to help her move it. I tell her I don't have a truck and she asks if I have a friend she can pay to move it or otherwise she will rent a truck. I tell her I will check with a buddy to see if he can. He isn't interested.
Is it acceptable to cancel the deal with this lady and re-list said sectional for $200 or so? Or maybe even e-mail each one of the people that acted interested and tell them the sectional is still for sale after original deal fell through and see if I can get a few bids?

Yes. Pretty much anything goes on Craigslist. I'd tell the woman that if she can't come get it herself in the next few hours (without any help from you or your friends...wtf?) that you're relisting it. Just be clear in your relist exactly what your terms are. There's no need to be nice. When you're listing something that cheap, most people that are interested are trying to angle you anyway. You'll get a higher quality clientele when you relist at $200.
When people start asking questions about getting my friends involved or anything out of the ordinary, I don't even respond.

backing this up.
it is completely standard for someone to agree upon a deal with you and last minute a better deal comes along and they flake out and never contact you again.

This makes me feel a lot better, but this lady seemed really nice on the phone. I feel like I at least owe her a call/text explanation. Any suggestions on weaseling my way out of this?

lol, $25 to a pipe dream of $200. Enjoy the double couch situation when no one will take away your pile of poop.

I don't think $200 is a pipe dream. One interested person said, "Are you really selling this sectional for $25?". After telling another interested person I already told someone I'd sell it to them she asked where I got it or what brand it was so she could find one like it.
This is a very nice sectional minus the two large scratches in one of the cushions.

Tell her that you can't hold it for her, but if she can come get it and does all the work, it's hers - just make sure she calls before she comes. Relist and if she calls and you don't want to give it to her, tell her someone is on the way and if they don't show up you'll let her know. Easy.

You agreed to a deal. End of story. Getting out of it now is scummy.

Agree with this, but implicit in the deal is that the woman has to somehow pick up the item. I'd make a good faith effort to honor the deal but if she can't come get it it's yours to re-list.
Craigslist buyers and sellers are usually completely unprofessional, but that's no excuse for you to be.

because every person who see the price would have paid more. I have done this, by the time the last person who asked about the item I had for sale, the $$$ was 10 times the actual sale number. Of course all those people who would have paid were full of ****. One of the easiest ways of getting away from a salesman, or anyone with something for sale is, I'll buy. It ends the pitch and give the shopper an easy way out. Be backs are not greeenbacks.
Your initial number was to get rid of it, now the greed may cause you to sit on it. Pick a side. Three sides of the triangle; price, speed, quality, pick only 2.

Exactly how I felt. I guess I will sell to her as long as she can pick it up.

Re: semi-accepted sale on craigslist, how can i un-do it
The mistake you made is not explicitly stating in your Ad that you have a couch, its nice, its cheap, and the FIRST person who can come haul it off on their own with no help from me and give me $25 dollars takes it.
I always work on a first come first serve basis because many people will flake on you through CL.
If I get someone who actually sounds intelligent and seems like they really want it, I will occasionally offer a reasonable (24-hour max) time period for them to come pick up said item....IF they sound like they really are going to come get it.

I think my mistake was pricing it way too low. I had one lady write me 2 e-mails how lovely the sectional was and then followed up with asking where I got it/ who made it. <---honestly I hope the first lady flakes so I can give it to her for $25
