For a chain in NYC to get those reviews is impressive. It is a great company.
Sweetgreen is very good and by far the best of the fast casual salad chains in NYC imo (Chop't, Fresh & Co, etc). It's on the expensive side but not unreasonable for NYC, great ingredients/dressings, and they're generally quite efficient.

To say they're not a better salad than a random NYC grocer is a pretty lol statement.

Re: Restaurant industry

My problem with Freshii is the name is too close to another restaurant called Fresh, which is a vegan restaurant that I never want to step foot in. I thought they were the same store for the longest time until I went in one about 40 metres from where I am living. I like their burritos, don't feel gross after eating one like fat bastard burritos

Thank you. It's a great company. Something I have realized on 2+2 is people are more price sensitive than quality sensitive.

FYP

People can talk about wanting artisan this, small batch that; but if there's sticker shock, then a lot of that goes out the window.

Just a little update - looks like Freshii had their IPO today:

Should be interesting to follow them and see how they do

Re: Restaurant industry

"It's not aggressive growth that we're managing, it's aggressive demand"

Never heard that before, nice line from the CEO, might have to steal that line for future use.

Dude is really good at PR/Branding. I'm not going to buy Freshii but I hope they do well.

Would still enjoy hearing your thoughts ahnuld
