Considering doing some research on the effectiveness of micro loans in third world nations to see if any long term benefit exists within the current system or if something better could take its place. I'm thinking of focusing on how sustainable the micro loan process is or if it just props up the entrepreneurs until the funds given to them dry up. Does anyone have any information or insight into the micro loan process that they would want to discuss?
Look at Kiva.org for a good place to start research. IIRC, they or someone else said it's super difficult and you have to deal with local organisations that take the majority of any profit.

Theres a documentary I saw long time agro which was pretty harsh against the hole system. They basicly loan out small amounts of cash with insane interest rates. Cant remember the name of it but I guess its simialr to these articles: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/0...The-Kiva-Story
