I'm not going to be buying any of the IPO. $100 billion market cap for $1 billion profit on $4 billion revenue? I'm staying away.

The problem with Facebook is the advertising growth is not going to scale with user growth. They're going to be inversely related IMO. When Facebook ramps up the ads on the site, they're going to see a slowing user growth (because people are going to get annoyed and leave or not even join).

Well HPY is misbehaving, I'll likely try and liquidate my position tomorrow depending on price action.

While I personally don't even use FB. I do think there is so many people that I have encountered who are addicted to it like cigs. They can't help but to be either online all day via their phones or to pop on 4-5 times a day to post about their days like everyone cares. Seems like the dude is a smart kid and with the right moves with the IPO could possibly take it to another level himself. This is all yet to be seen though obviously as the growth of FB depends on them staying new and fresh with things. Was just curious as to what people more familiar with stocks thought about this all. I am still very much learning about the stock market. Trying to put some time into things little by little before I actually start investing myself.

FACEBOOK will break investors hearts, I guarantee it.

The valuation is beyond ridiculous.

Mind boggling that these wall street scum could slap a $100 billion value on that when real companies are trading at single digit multiples.

Zuckerberg is going to be wall streets little whipping boy and it wont take long.

Zuckerberg shows up in a sweat suit, what a moron, were talking about the American peoples life savings and you ask for it in sweats??? he should get prepared for death threats they will be coming in 6 months

Re: May 2012 Trading Thread

Still can't find a reason to get in the market here. Still expecting a pop in the next two weeks, maybe FB will finally be the catalyst. Just need something to get the dominoes to start falling.

As has been the case all week for me Cash is king. There are short opportunities still out there, but I think waiting it out might be a little more safe for my game. I like my chances once it's time to go long.

If long set ups break down further and we start seeing -300pt days like last year I'll reassess.

I wont bet him because obviously that would be a dumb bet for me.

I am stating that the market will likely pop higher - however i will not be squeezed out of my short positions...

Re: May 2012 Trading Thread

LOL, nah I have seen these kind of stocks before, they can drag on for years... of course they destroy all shareholder equity first but they still trade so HFTs can nip poor retailers for micro pennies.

We will just leave it at nice call sir, nice call...
