July 2012 Trading Thread

Let's start the second half!

I think the focus might shift to the US economy for once. Jobs report and earnings season should be front and center.

It'll be a pretty quiet first week for me. I'm holding spy short through the week as I want exposure to the job report on Friday.

If jobs come in-line, I'll cover the spy and take my medicine.

No watch list this week. Only bet I'm looking to make is if we are up Monday and open up on Tuesday, I may look to go long some inverse ETFs for a trade only. If we rally MOn and Tue I think it is likely that traders are going to take profits on Thursday ahead of Jobs report. I'd cover before the report.

Re: July 2012 Trading Thread

If we end up in the red today that is probably enough to keep me from making any new short entries this week.

Overall my short term bearishness has turned more to a neutral position. I'll see how the week unfolds. I may look to cover my spy short at some point during the week as cash might be the better position.

thinking it will be thin and choppy so I'll probably be on the sidelines, other than some /CL and /GC scalps.

Re: July 2012 Trading Thread

Sorry for the noob questions. I'm trying to get back to trading and haven't done much research yet. Can you guys recommend me like 3-5 stocks I need to consider holding for like 1-2 months?

Thanks

Def research these first before buying but: AAPL, DDD, WWWW, WPI, EBAY, ULTA V, ISRG, PCLN all have a shot to do pretty well if we get a summer rally.

AMZN, ASPS, SWHC, CF, And CSTR i like less but are set to pop too.

VVUS at $22.30, holding through approval (hopefully FDA approves Qnexa) and OMPI at $14.95.

I don't do a ton of swing trading, but I would check out Slope of hope, there are a number of swing traders that routinely post up their trades (although most of are bears).

Currently I am holding INTC, ATLS, TRX, as well as a couple of 3x long Intl ETF's.

Cheers

wasn't meant to be a brag, simply responding to the above poster (learn to read before being an ignorant moron) -- I follow a very successful trader and we're up 122% since last year so I'll stick with him and you keep laughing about something you have no idea about

I've met your kind before!!!

Although I don't doubt your returns your comment above about no leverage + this makes me speechless.

I'll let the others do the bashing.
