I am in the NYC area. I need at least a $3500 or more loan. I have exhausted all my options. credit history is not old enough to get a traditional personal loan and payday lender businesses are illegal in NY state.

Depending on the interest I am charged I can pay this off within 4 to 5 months or depending on the circumstances sooner. I have a stable job/income, I have few to zero living expenses so I can easily pay off such a loan. I imagine that someone here would know someone that lends money to people most likely at high interest.

Please if anyone knows a loan shark/lender in NY/NJ area (or one that is willing to lend to someone without meeting them in person.) or if they know someone that would know someone, would they please put me contact with them. Just private message me. I would really appreciate serious replies only. I am also willing to give the person that helps me a "finders fee". Really hope someone here can help me out.

Come on. I know someone here knows one or at least knows a bookie that would know one.

I think people are reluctant to help because this usually involves gambling problems. The likelihood of this making your life better is almost zero if that's the case; the likelihood of making it worse is close to 100%. This is impossible to see when you have gambling problems, because the nature of a gambling problem (if you're smart/together as you seem to be) is a profound misjudgment of risk/EV and/or your own future behavior.

If you owe money/bills, and have a stable job, virtually anyone will be happy to put you on a payment plan for money that you owe.

You sound like you're at least somewhat together. GL with it.

To be very honest I sound together because I am. I actually don't gamble at all. I joined some days ago because when I was searching for a "loan shark" this site kept popping up which makes sense, people that gamble for recreation sometimes need to borrow money. So no gambling addiction for me because I don't even know how to other where to gamble. I just really need a loan for a family emergency.

Loan sharks really need to step up their SEO game.

If it's a family emergency (I'm 99% it isn't), you can do the following:

GoFundMe - that place is full of cucks who give money to all kinds of nonsense
Various emergency loan programs if it's medical or similar
Bail bonds if it's bail
Pawning stuff you own (your TV, phone, etc), which is held for a fee and you can buy back

If you have a stable job and a genuine issue, there are ways to get money.

Thanks for the replies. I am 20 years old and I just moved back home to save my money. I live in NYC so it became too expensive. That is where the money went.
I do not own enough collateral to add up to $3500, or else I would have done that.

What weekly interest rate would you be willing to pay?

You say "at least" $3500 - what would be optimal for you?

$5000 would be best but I don't want to push my luck.

I might sound brave but I think the average for a "loan shark" is 10 percent a week I can do that but it would take me longer to pay off. The thing is I have honestly seen people loan money to other people online for much lower interest but I am not eligible.

Read like the first 10 pages. There is something wrong with OP, I honestly think he is mentally ill. I hope he is doing better now. I see that the user "El Diablo" knows some people but I have no way to contact him, I am not allowed to private message anyone yet. I will continue reading to see if I can get other useful info.

I don't understand. You're making enough to pay off the $350/week interest + principle (at least another $200/week), and yet you need $3500 right now? It doesn't make sense. I cannot think of anything that won't let you pay off over 6 weeks if you have a good job.

I think it's unlikely you're going to get help from anyone here (in the form of a loan) without detailing why you're in the situation you're in.

Well, it's a good lesson. You imply you're making a good wage by what you claim to be able to pay back, as a single young person you should be living such that you can put at least 20-40% of your weekly paycheck into savings/emergency money.

Is around $1700 a month a good wage?

When I was by myself I handled my finances terribly and I now have credit card debt( I did end up selling alot of the stuff I bought) and I am now learning my lessons the hard way. I barely saved any cash and my short credit history is ruined.

I also dropped out of college and I need to go back and register before it is too late. I really regret dropping out. I currently owe Sallie Mae and my school money.

My mother is recently had surgery and I am unable to watch her. I need her to go to family before she hurts herself again but at the moment we do not have the money to buy a plane ticket.

My brother is mentally ill and has relapsed again. He needs to be put in assisted living because we cannot contain him anymore, insurance/state will cover most of it but we have to pay for some of it for the home we think is best for him.

$3500 will obviously not cover all of this but will cover enough right now before my situation gets worse and more expensive. I need to fix my mistakes and help out my family. I need to be able to move my life foward because I am not getting younger. Maybe in writing these things don't seem urgent, but as someone that is dealing with it, they have to be dealt with as soon as possible.
Edit: just realized I do not make enough to be paying 10 percent interest a week. I will literally just be paying interest for years. Somehow in my head I based the interest on something else. There was a subreddit on reddit that allows people to request and give out loans. When I went on there the interest was reasonable not as low as financial institutions but certainly not as high as a real loan shark. I private messaged some of the lenders and one responded told they will lend me the $3000 and I repay the principal plus $800 in "interest". I agreed even sent a selfie, id, proof of address, etc. But it turned out he wanted collateral as well, the only thing I had that would cover that is an industrial sewing machine which he considered useless, so that fell through.
I don't know what to do now and no one will help me. I now see how people end up where they are now. Someone makes a mistake when younger and they are burdened with it for the rest of their life.

So you admit you cannot pay off a loan shark even with a (very low) 10%/week interest rate - which is $350/week or $1400/month (i.e your entire salary + a tiny bit of food)? If so, loan sharking is the absolute worst thing you can do. It will solve nothing at all.

Ok. How do you possibly do college costs + payback + a job?? Given your financial problems, it seems the time to save up some money, maybe do a second job to get yourself clear of all this, rather than incur the expense and time lost of education.

Your next paycheck, less than a week away, will buy a plane or bus ticket.

What on that list is going to get more expensive than a loan shark at $350 or 10%/week?? This makes zero sense whatsoever.

This is comical. You're 20 years old. You got into this mess partly by short term thinking, short term thinking is not going to get you out of it. The lessons you need to learn are not the ones you think you need to learn.

You need to take a 3 year view this situation, not a "I have to fix this right now" view. As for your family issues, that is not your problem. They or older relatives need to fix it. If no one in your family has $3000 to throw around, a loan shark for $3500 isn't going to do a damn thing. In fact it's going to **** up your life badly.

A loan shark is the worst possible thing you can do in this situation.

If they were real they would be urgent. If no family and friends are going to help, you need to suck it up and use your paycheck to slowly work your way out of this. Credit card debt can almost always be renegotiated with a weekly payment plan.

If you have proof of the above and don't mind using your real name, you should do a GoFundMe. 1000x better than a loan shark, which isn't an option here. Apart from that, your only path of this is to painstakingly save.

How long have you worked at your job? You are a bank teller, correct? I find it crazy that your employer, whose business it is to offer financial services, is unable to do anything to help you out.

Re: flight
Where do you need to buy a flight to? What's the cheapest price you have found? I'll find you a cheaper flight.

You can't afford plane tickets, take the dog (bus).

You are 20 years old, which means you do not have the earning power to take care of other people yet. Your relatives are going to have to wait for you to get a career before they can put their hands out. The very act of them asking you for help is them eating the seed corn. They need to plant it instead (by leaving you the **** alone until you make middle class money).

Sometimes in life we have to look at our resources, look at our obligations, and decide who is getting screwed because we simply do not have the money. You'll feel a lot less stressed when you've decided who gets screwed. And someone absolutely will. If you go to a loan shark it will be everyone who gets screwed, so that option is literally the nut low.

And hell no 1700 a month isn't good money. Especially not in the Northeast. You should first try your hand at sales (car lots are ideal for this), then try your hand at coding, and then investigate trade jobs or driving a truck. More than anything your income is causing your problems. 1700 a month is barely enough to live on as a single adult, much less help anyone else.

Thanks for all the replies but soon as I reread the reply before my most recent reply I realized I absolutely cannot go to a "loan shark" you would notice this if you looked where I last edited. I am naive somehow I thought the interest wouldn't be so high. Having to pay someone almost all my money a month will just make everything worse. I will figure something else out.

How did you know I was a bank teller? You looked me up right?
You would be suprised by how banks treat their retail employees. I really don't get anything special from my work.

There's a borrow subreddit over on Reddit. You can try that route.

Fair enough- from your reddit account I know your job, height, gender, hair color...

Where does your mom need to fly to?

Have you considered robbing a bank? You know all the procedures. Seems perfect for getting a small amount like 5k

I originally registered with reddit to request a loan on r/borrow. I was not allowed to post until my account was 90 days old and I had 1000 karma. Someone told me that all I need is 1000 karma and I would be allowed to do a Pre-arranged loan. So I made lots of posts and comments trying to get 1000 karma points. I did but when I tried to request again it was still removed. There is no way around the account age thing on that subreddit.

My mom needs to go to Houston, TX.

Though I hope you are joking about robbing a bank, it has crossed my mind to be honest even though I know it's wrong. It is a victimless crime and easy to to do. But I look way too distinctive to be engaging in any criminal activity. Even if I got away with it and no one suspected me I would feel super guilty and dirty knowing I took and kept money that isn't mine would probably drop off the money I stole the next day. If I have money I want to know it is because I worked for it, that I am paying it back, or I just got lucky. I don't want to think I have something because I stole it from someone or an institution/company.

Believe me, I tried that. I did not meet the requirements to post so I started private messaging lenders which I didn't know was against the rules. Once I realized it was I stopped but I was still permanently banned.

Seriously, try https://www.gofundme.com/

You're female, young, have sad family issues, "look distinctive", and have a low target. All perfect to get people to pay up. If not you, it'll just be some other scam. You might even make well over the amount you want. And you don't need to pay back.

"20 yo + want to go back to college + mom plane fare + mentally ill brother", perfect. Just sell it as a bunch of stuff that happened all once and now you're underwater.

I think you just need a Facebook account.
