I admire the founder a lot - he's put a ton of money into the company and has a phenomenal track record. Problem dealing with govt agencies & getting approvals - then you have to dilute everyone b/c of delays. IMO this thing will either be a 10-20 bagger from current levels or it will go out of business. And I currently have no clue which outcome is more likely.

I also note that Doyle Brunson used to pimp MNKD on Twitter (before the stock crashed last year). Interesting fact.

it seems like they know how to fix the issues that brought the inhaler drug to get rejected. I feel like people see the rejection by the fda and insta sold, causing it to hit its 52 week low. I think this stock might blow up if the inhaler drug goes thru. ill would keep an eye on it.

Its so strange how they don't want to talk to people. When I called before saying I was a private investor the secretary blew me off. I just don't understand why they wouldn't want to speak with potential investors. Something doesn't add up.
Maybe an IR person would be a CEO would certainly not want to waste time talking to a possible <$1mm instead of running the business.

I mean, imagine you were invested in AAPL and learned that Steve Jobs spent an hour talking to a kid who was thinking about putting $1,000 into AAPL instead of making the next big item.

Do tons of entry level financial jobs have people cold-calling businesses all the time to ask questions?

You do realize this company is worth only 9 million dollars? Its nothing like Steve Jobs talking to a potential investor.

Good point. I think it was more my frustration from calling before and not getting why the company would keep so much cash on hand.

it would have been bankrupt years ago if the founder wasnt a senile billionaire.

u only need to spend 5 minutes looking at their proposed product to understand.

I've been accumulating VITC (Vitacost) they've had a lot of problems in the past (10% of their float is short) -- but are vastly undervalued for what they should be able to accomplish going forward. They have completely overhauled their management in the last year (including CEO)

Could anyone help explain what this means for a stock that I just recently bought.

Quote:
NEW YORK, Feb. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Rouse Properties, Inc. (NYSE: RSE) ("Rouse" or the "Company") announced today that the record date for its previously announced rights offering of common stock has been set for the close of business on February 13, 2012. Holders of the Company's common stock as of 5 p.m. on the record date will be entitled to receive one right per share of common stock owned. Each right will entitle its holder to purchase 0.375094056 shares of the Company's common stock at a price of $15.00 per whole share.
So I own 450 shares of the company does that mean I will be able to buy more shares for $15 even if the price is above that? It seems very confusing to me. Sorry if it's an obvious question I'm not very experienced in investing.

It looks like you will have the option to buy up to 168 or 169 shares at $15 per.

Why did you buy this company? Imo, you should not have bought this company if you did not understand this transaction, which was disclosed in many places before this announcement.

Anyways, yes you're interpretation is correct, but do not exercise your rights if the price is above the rights price (should be obvious as to why you shouldn't).

Honestly I bought it because my uncle who is more experienced and has done very well with investing told me it would be a good stock to invest in. I'm sure he knew what this meant but I didn't have a chance to talk to him and was curious what it meant.

I think that rse is pretty attractive even after this run-up. Care to share anymore of your uncle's picks?
