If I wanted to bet that the QQQ will trade $55 (down $9.xx/shr) by October of this year what would be the best put to purchase?

Opinions please.

You could play the 2x or 3x short QQQ.

QID or SQQQ depending on how much risk you want.

the breakeven on that is also a p/e of like 13, or 11ish net of cash. i'd much rather sell puts.

EDIT: based on current analyst estimates obv. if they beat earnings...

Thinking a stock won't be up almost 20% in less than a year is bearish?

To be clear, I have no opinion on AAPL. But that is an absurd statement.

companies dont stay above 500 bil marketcap for long. never happened that a company got above that amount and stayed there for over a year. I dont think a consumer products company with no monopoly will be the first to do it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...capitalization

ps. im sure inflation adjusted a few companies have broken 500 bil market capo and stayed there for a year, and im sure most of them were in the 1870's-1890s before the sherman antitrust act was passed/enforced

Soda is probably heading lower here even at 40.49. I'd dive into that report deeper, but I don't want a second short position in this market. Thinking about covering JCP for a small gain right now.

-Revenue Decreased in 2011 while cost of sales increased.
-45 PE is unjustified at this point
-The stock has simply run up to fast too quick. The future looks better but it's going to take a while. Management has pretty much said this as well. There are a lot of people who have 20% profits in this. If the market pulls back I think is a good canidate for a sell off
-Current price is already above 1 yr target estimates

Bull case:
Ron ****ing Swanson, um I mean Johnson

Planning to keep a tighter stop than usual on this one. Shorting this market = danger. I can always put it back on later.
Covered 40.19. Again possibly getting out too early, but market broke resistance and I don't have good feel for whats coming next. Locking in a small 2% and change gain is fine w me. Also, JCP needs to be monitored and I'm going to AC tomorrow for WSOP circuit and prob won't be able to do the work necessary.

Curious have you ever posted a single trade/idea/thought ahead of the event.

I also shorted gold 3 milliseconds prior to the dump, thank god I am the richest man in the world now.

You sound ridiculious coming in here time and time again claiming to have sniped something after the fact.

Better you say nothing.

Added more GRVY at 2.40 during the speech. I have been doing some DD and it looks good, but man it sure feels like a P&D.

I hear you on the P&D feeling, but I think the recent run-up is because it looks like there is light at the other end of the tunnel. The expectations were so low for this company to actually put out a product that the execution risk surrounding RO2 exceeded the probability that the market would pay par on GRVY's cash and middling, but profitable RO revenue stream.

There haven't been any PR news releases or hired stock promoters like with most P&D. In fact, I think GRVY's IR has been pretty bad with transparency.

I don't expect the stock to go much higher before the commercial release of RO2. If your catalyst is the RO2 release, then I would close the position either shortly before or immediately after the release. There's no way to assess how well RO2 has been marketed and whether the game is any good.

This just seems like such an arbitrary way of looking at it. As pointed out ad nauseam, fundamentally the story is still good. If this was Cisco circa 2000 and it was trading at 100 times earnings then I could understand. But some company has got to trade above 500 bil market cap sometime, why not Apple? Also they dont have a monopoloy per se, but they such are close and they earn profits as if they did.
