My concern is that the indication isn't very accurate at the current state- a 51% attack right now is still way less expensive than what it would be on Bitcion, because our total hash power for the ETH network hasn't adjusted up fast enough to close the gap and reach equilibrium yet. It's way too profitable mining ETH right now for the miners that do, so we either need to drastically up the hash power OR lower the block rewards. The former would allow us to maintain the current price (assuming we're not in a bubble), while the latter would likely decrease the price in the long term.

Hopefully we see more miners join the network in the next few weeks, but we shall see.

Rootstock should garner discussion in the coming weeks. What makes it better/worse than eth?

Their unconfirmed transactions and fees get higher and higher as time goes on, while eth has a roadmap for the next year at least.

The main thing going for bitcoin right now is that is the main entry into the crypto world, it has the name. It's the only real way to invest in any other cryptocurrency...by buying bitcoin and then going from there.
I think that bitcoin has added like $7B in market cap in the last week or two. Not saying ETH can't get there but that seems insane to me if it will this year.

Agree that bitcoin is going to either hard or soft fork soonish and we'll see what happens after that.

It's a lot more centralized than Ethereum. IIRC, anyone who wants to build and use RSK smart contracts have to pay fees that go to the RSK team.

To the moon. I'm going to work with 2 longs open. Hopefully they don't crash so fast that I can't react.

A warning would make me the only bear in the room. Imo buy if you have the cash, I already spent most of mine a while ago.

It's easy to make a million. Just gotta double up and triple it.

- pretty sure that was from the TV show Tilt. I'm trying to find a clip because it was such a joke scene but the guy was serious that it was that easy for them to make a million in poker.

But really, ya, if I had any actual assets besides crypto, I'd get more crypto.

ethereum is on pace to surpass bitcoin's market cap by the end of the year, if not much sooner. Looks like $5B+ has gone in within 48 hours

Its amazing how far this has come and yet how early it still is. I'm assuming that once eth overtakes btc the media will start to get involved and we will have ourselves a frenzy. I'm honestly amazed that their hasn't been any mainstream media coverage of this, but for sure there will be.

Re: Ethereum - Blockchain App Platform

What would be ur play with two longs open at 130 usd and 0.0575 btc? Currently have 100% of my stack leveraged. Liquidation is at 70 usd and 0.03 respectively. Interest rates are fairly high too at 0.15% for USD and 0.05% for BTC (daily).
I'm thinking of riding both for another week and a half. I think by this point, all new money will have gotten on-board.

I would never hold margin for any period of time. It's not a matter of if, but when they flash crash the thing and steal your stack.
