Can you post a link to a 20$/yr site, I usually get all mine thorugh rapid SSL which is one of the cheaper I can find and it is 50-60$/yr; admittedly haven't done a tone of searching though. thanks.

First google result!

http://www.cheapssls.com/

And UK

http://www.trustico.co.uk/products/r...ertificate.php

(Haven't bought from either of these 2 though, link to the one I buy from is at home)

It's amazing the amount of BS in the SSL sale. It's truly one of most incredulous industries out there.

If my keywords are football/soccer/footy boots, cheap, could you provide an example of how you would rewrite that one product's title?

It may seem like I'm targeting very competitive key words, but in Australia (google.com.au), the first pages of each of those search terms don't appear to be all that competitive.

Startup costs:
- $50 per month for Shopify website
- $350 per year for Payment Gateway
- $110 per year for local bank internet merchant facility
- $40 domain name registrations (to be renewed every 2 years)
- $150 basic office supplies (incl printer/fax/scanner)

Biggest cost has been my time.

I'd rather not breakdown my brief P/L in the public forum. I'm happy to divulge numbers via PM though, so hit me up.
I don't understand... What about the costs of merchandise? Or is this an affiliate store?

How's the store going?

Just about to startup a shopify myself soon, getting some product made in china at the moment. Have about a month to set this whole thing up.

So be keen to hear how shopify is treating you?

Thanks

Re: Critique my new eCommerce website design.

Hey paratacus.

Noticed some traffic coming from 2+2 so thought someone must have bumped my post. Sure enough.

Store is going well.

I actually won one of the category prizes for the Shopify Build-A-Business competition. Netted me close to a $40k prize package. So yeah, business is good and Shopify treating me well

Using sites like Shopify, you'll always come across a few minor things that don't work how you'd like them to. Especially if you're too tight with your money to pay for a real designer like me.

But overall, happy to be with Shopify.

If you have any particular questions, let me know. I'll try and check this thread every so often.

I think it looks great.

Some of the product descriptions on the right side panel are extending past the "content area" of the page in Chrome: http://i46.tinypic.com/1ovofn.jpg

Re: Critique my new eCommerce website design.

I've had that product description issue from the start. It was brought up earlier in this thread.

The product titles won't be changing, so it's on the 'to do' list if I ever hire an actual webdesigner.

Would rather not make those numbers public mcleod14, so just send me a PM, and I'll see what I can answer.
