Considering a real job/resume help? Considering a real job/resume help?

I've been playing live poker as my sole source of income for the past 8 years or so. I graduated college 5 years ago and never have really had any interest in joining the typical working world as I have always been satisfied with the live poker lifestyle. I'm at a point now in my life where I feel like I'm ready to slow down and obtain some traditional stability. I've never had an actual job before so when it comes to making a resume it does look bad since I'm lacking experience. I've made up a resume explaining I've been a pro poker player/entrepreneur and described the responsibilities that come along with it. I've submitted my resume to several places, but have not had any luck which I am assuming is because of my lack of professional workplace experience and possibly because it says poker player which isn't highly respected in my area (southeast). I'm open to suggestions as to how I can spruce it up and possibly reword my job title and make it more appealing to the reader.

A resume is a good summary of your skills, but you should focus on crafting a cover letter for each specific job you are applying for to explain why you want to work there and why your skills are a good match for the job.

Buy a nice suit and show up to the places you want to work at with your resume in hand. Most of the times they will refer you to their online application process but at least now your resume might land on someone's desk(and stick out because no one from the SnapChat generation does anything in person). Sometimes the influencer will go back to the receptionist's desk or whomever took your resume and ask where it come from and then ask about her thoughts of you as they give your resume a glance over. Still got a tough road ahead of you unless you know someone though.

Consider doing some type of retraining. If you have neither an immediately marketable skillset nor strong personal connections, you will be limited to the very lowest rung of the job market.
