business task and schedule

To anyone who operate or own a business, can you describe me what type of business do you run and what are your task in a normal day? If you could remove one of these task to work on something more 'profitable' what would it be?

Thank you.

Re: business task and schedule

Im asking that because im thinking of offering a services that could take care of most mechanical task you have to do in a day. For exemple people who own a car dealer and waste couple hours a week posting their ads on websites.

Im just looking to know what are the most common task a business man have to do every day that waste his time and could easily doable by anoyone.

Re: business task and schedule

why would you think time spent on advertising units would be wasted? If they are an owner of a dealership, then the shift sales managers or general manager would be tasked with setting the copy and relevant price strategy for each unit. If the dealer was a small one, then he is the one to ensure the proper ads are run.

There may be repetitive things that could be outsourced, but that would already be handled by current staff. If you're thinking about personal assistants poker players have hired ( who have far too much ego in play) then a businessman doesn't bother with that.

I could rip on this idea pretty easy and just say there are so many ways to outsource these mundane repetitive tasks already with sites like Elance. There was a job I outsourced at my last company that was costing us 2k/mo for 100/mo.

IMO, you need to find an industry first. For example, an tech company is going to have different tasks they need completed than a metal shop. Sort of a bad example, because you think they all need marketing, sales, etc. but a metal shop will most likely need help and/or consulting on anything technology related and tech company might need a couple welding jobs needed every now and then.

How serious are you about this? Where are you located? Whats your background? How much starting capital do you have?
