Re: Books on startups, entrepreneur related
Cool, ty for the suggestions.
Am aggressivly brainstorming ideas with a friend of mine for internet related services. Looking for food for thought.
Once the idea comes into fruition, obviously any business knowledge is useful.
Ordered a few of the suggestions on here, looking forward to reading.

why not just work in an industry, figure out how to benefit that industry, then create said product? randomly brainstorming doesn't seem too worthwhile.

FWIW, it doesn't necessarily have to be about startups. It can be any random website.

This. You're not going to learn the logistics of starting a business by reading a book. The only way to do it is to just start working at it and deal with the problems as they come. I guarantee you, no matter how much you research, there will be 100 things that popped up unexpectedly. You just have to deal with them as they arise and learn as you go.
I guess the only real preparation that might be useful is finding someone in whatever field it is and talk to them. Also, find a good lawyer, accountant, or whatever else you might need to get you set up appropriately. Other than that, you just gotta sack up and do it.

The 35 page report is called "Breakthrough DNA: the 8 Profit Activators You Can Trigger in Your Business Right Now". It is on the right hand side of the page.
You have to opt-in to get instant access to it. FYI, I didn't have to use a real name and email to get access to it.

Re: Books on startups, entrepreneur related
The mentor of Eric Ries, author of The Lean Startup, actually has a 500 page book. His name is Steve Blank. This is the link to his book. Apparently, no Kindle version. This book is about startups and probably beats The Lean Startup due to the fact that also incorporates the Business Model Generation template.
Steve Blank, Eric Ries, and the guy that wrote Business Model Generation are redefining the startup process. They are the Peter Druckers, Tom Peters, and Michael Porters of our time. Seminal to the extreme!
Steve Blank Lecture on Youtube
Eric Ries on Youtube
Business Model Generation on Youtube This one is only 2 minutes. The previous two are one hour long.

Lean startup was highly regarded in my business plan development class.
Also recommended was the four steps to epiphany

Because that takes 3 years of my life doing something I don't want to do and while beneficial, isnt necessary?
