You have touched upon a few of them, but not directly answered any that i can see.
I post up a mixed bag of vids, pics, tips etc and have used the 'fill in the blanks', 'tag a mate who...', asked questions, comments etc but none are really having the desired effect. I also comment on other similar pages wishing them gl etc. we're too small at the moment to go down the 25-500 type challenge route but i'm guessing that's route that brings the most $$$$ in? We have a website and a Twitter account too but we're mainly focused on soccer and with a lot of leagues ended, or coming to an end, we need to keep everything ticking over.
When you say to join private groups, is that as yourself (or fake FB account) or as your sports tipping page? If your Sports Tipping page, do you just comment on everything you can and throw in the odd share from your page? Or is the share thing more if you have joined as your personal account?
I would probably join private groups as yourself and just be subtle about it. IE pretend its not your page and that you are just talking about it for some reason... Be careful though as I own a few of the main private groups and know about this sort of thing so you wont last long in my groups
But this certainly works in groups that are poorly maintained by their admins

I don't really boost any posts. I used to just pay for likes. Now there is no point paying for either. I find it hard to justify spending any money on promoting posts and here is why:
You promote posts to get likes (That is the ultimate aim - get attention, get a click and then get them to like the page). Now that you have paid for that and got the likes, you now want to communicate to those likes and BOOOM, Facebook only lets you speak to between 5-10% of your audience. You have basically paid for likes that you can not talk to. I blog about these sorts of things in great detail just in my spare time - I wont post the link to my blog as I do not want to be accused of using this thread to gain anything for myself.
My most successful posts are the ones that are original. the "Tag a mate" posts you mentioned are old now, people have seen them and they wont get you much attention. Find something new and it can still get you attention

I suppose that would be smart. I have never really gone into it in that much detail.

I have a couple of lads posting tips for me on some of my pages. I pay them a few ££ for each sign up they get me to an affiliate. Saves me time and energy

Meh, once a post is no longer the most recent one on your page, people have already forgotten about it.
I try not to ban people. Just hide their posts, their mates will see it but no one else meaning you still get attention.

Thanks again, that will do for now!

Some days I do loads of research, some days none. I am not a winning sports bettor so it makes no difference how much research I do as I do not know how to find value in betting odds
