App Data/Statistics

Looking for help gathering statistical data about apps (how many were bought of a certain one).

I wasn't sure if this data was publicly available to anyone or what. Looking for info on common apps, Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja. The big sellers mainly, intrigued by them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I compared it to my hard data from ITC (I used only 4 apps w/ about 1.7mil downloads figuring it'll do better with larger numbers). For total downloads, some of it is off by a factor of 2, but in general it's not too bad considering it's probably just interpolating from a few data points. I'd say an error rate of no more than a factor of 3.

The monthly estimates for dec are way off though. Much too high. Not sure why.

AppAnnie intelligence is probably what you want if you want to do serious market research. But it costs 5 figures for a 12-month subscription.

Re: App Data/Statistics

Apple is cracking down on developers who game the system, for example with bots to download the app to fake devices in order to pad the popularity rankings FYI.
