I mean you're not meeting these people in their homes or in some dark alley in the hood; you meet at a gas station or whatever in the middle of broad daylight so the risk of anything happening is really low.

Still we are talking about people who are willing to come meet some stranger at a gas station to get chump change for electronics -- it isn't like this is going to be pleasant.

OP i actually like the website idea more than teaching random people, who in the end will have no intention to keep doing business with you after you show them the ropes .

how much thought you have you put into the website ? i think someone on here has a pawn shop type website where people send them items and you value them then buy it . think something similiar would work for you .
.

i think this would be decent if set up on a college campus.

have a facebook profile saying you buy phones. ppl are comfortable with you if they know you're a student. put up ads around campus and you can go around buying phones without any real inconvenience to your normal routine.

$100 bucks is chump change?

This is a lot of money to most of the population.

I have my old Iphone 3 just sitting here but would love to get $100 bucks for it.

I paid $200 for a brand new version 4, so selling the old one for half this amount is great imo.

Think I'm gonna use gazelle.com just haven't done anything yet.

You have a very weird image of the people using craigslist. Our average price point for buying is $150 and some phones we pay up to $40o for.

The website is ideal bc it takes even less time, higher margins and the whole system is automated. The downside is there are big competitors (gazelle and glyde mainly) and they have major funding. If I started a real website and got traction I couldn't financially currently handle buying a lot of phones. Gazelle buys more than 1,000 a day

Gazelle is good and trustworthy but their turnaround is kind of slow and their prices are competitive as people locally.

do you not have better things to do than try to poke holes in this guy's story? tons and tons of people have to deal with unpleasent people in their jobs every day. it's great if you can suggest better ways to potentially make $50K

OP obviously is very good at this wheeling and dealing. hard to say how easily it's replicable and as OP i think points out himself it probably won't be around forever

anyway, good thread so thank you OP

This is OP's 2nd or 3rd topic discussing this and in the previous topics he gave no details and flaked out on at least one and possibly two individuals who took him up on his offer. That being said I'm not even challenging OP's claims only his interpretation of how easy this is. I like CBorders so I hope it works out for him but I'm going to make my prediction that he gets nowhere near $5k for the month-- I'd be surprised if he breaks $3k-- and that the degree of effort and distaste will be greater than promised.

Depending on skill sets, capital, and geographical location there are plenty of ways to make $50k with a lot less contact with icky people but the most obvious answer is of course getting a job.

Have you been on craiglist? I think I could do this without any prior training in my first shot. Obviously my first try would take more man hours, because I'd be inefficient, but it would be so easy. Those guys on barter king can trade to thousands in a week. (maybe some tv editing but obv they are owning people)
