If I was in a major market I could go from $500 to $5000 in a month. It wouldn't be easy, but it isn't impossible either.

I see this as a 500 McDoubles gamble. I'm not sure I see the scam here. If OP puts up $500 bones, and then instructs the selected person on what to buy, and then how much to sell it for, the only way the "chosen one" loses is if they send OP anything before being sure that the original seed money is good. If the seed money craps out, then they still have the goods/money earned in the process of wheeling and dealing.

I've heard about these schemes for years. This is the same thing that the Nigerians do. "I provide the cash and the information and you buy the product and ship it to me." Major red flag for me. What they do is "provide the money" which is actually a bad check. You deposit, think you have the cash, and buy the product and ship to him. Then by the time you realize his money never existed, he has the product and you are on hook for the money.

If someone that is reputable on this site wants to meet me in person ill give them cash and they can send to the person I choose. I am currently in San Fran until Tuesday, and will be in LA Wed. If anyone reputable can meet me and wants to do it I'm totally fine with this. FWIW I met someone today from 2+2 in San Fran today to talk to him about expanding here. He could at least attest for my legitimacy I'm sure.

Im sorry. Like I said previous I have received a ton of messages lately on here and am still trying to go from them. Feel free to email me to me personal email from my account or pm me again. I hate that in this inbox it doesn't include previous emails.

And this is a goal I think is attainable but I'm not guaranteeing it. With that said I will make a small bet of a few hundred? Proof of achievement could potentially be hard since we work with mainly cash.

This poster has created two separate threads claiming to operate a very profitable business with minimal effort and little to no risk, yet refuses to provide any meaningful details or proof of his claims.

In the instant case, OP has indicated that the arrangement will conclude with "splitting" the profits of the endeavor, yet he does not make clear the percentage that each party will receive. Also, any payment to the articipants will not be made until the end of the 30 day period after the work is completed.

Information from OP's previous posts, substantiated by external sources, suggests a very strong likelihood that OP is the owner of the domain www.sellmeyoursmartphone.com.

Further evidence (which I won't provide right now to shield OP's personal, identifying information) supports a conclusion that OP, or someone associated with him, has advertised cell phones and other various electronics for sale in various locations throughout the United States, including:

Springfield, MO
Kansas City, MO,
Cherryville, KS
Garden Plains, KS
Berkeley, CA
San Francisco, CA
Shawnee Mission, KS
Pyatt, AR
Cotter, AR

Most interestingly, OP has listed as a requirement that participants have or obtain a bank account from a list of specific banks. All of the listed banks share a common characteristic -- they each operate branches in the city that evidence suggests is the OP's location, thus supporting an inference that OP will require access to the participant's bank account.

It is also worth noting that all of the for sale postings throughout the country include instructions to only text message the seller. OP has listed as a requirement that participants "must text". This curious detail suggests a reluctance to speak in a voice conversation, further detracting from the legitimacy of this proposal.

Yes a lot of the business is cell phones. This has already been discussed in a previous thread and with many member of 2+2.

Profits will be split 50%/50%.

I do own that domain name but have not done much with it yet. Obvs it looks terrible. Have hired someone on Odesk to put together a website but it has net yet been completed.

Yes I am from Springfield MO and have other markets set up in Stl and KC MO. Also have a guy in Cape Girardeau MO. I am currently in San Fran and come here several times a year for a few weeks. Have lots of friends here. The other places on your list I am unsure of and or have never heard of them but most of them are within a few hundred miles of my house.

Yes I prefer texting. Keeping up with phone calls is very hard in this and most people on craigslist text. The reason I want people to have an Iphone or higher end android is bc it keeps all previous conversations you've had with the person. Makes it easier than making a phone call and them writing all the information down about where to meet, prices, etc.

The bank account thing I will absolutely not have access to anyones account. Those banks are in my town (Springfield mo) and it makes it easier for me to provide the person with more cash. Paypal charges almost 4% and takes several days to withdraw.

But it seems like this is turning into more trouble than its worth. I wasn't trying to do anything that seemed shady or anything but I can't get past it no matter what I offer. I can meet people in person, talk on the phone, text, Skype, or anything. Im willing to meet anyone in San fran this week, LA on Wed or Springfield MO anytime after that.

Edward Mancada (wsop bracelet winner from LA) has worked with me on this some in the past and did some transactions in LA. Maybe that adds a bit of legitamacy?

5k is a lot of money, in general terms. I have a decent job and I bring home about that much a month. I made 98k last year working for the largest nuclear energy company in the US.

I'm not saying it's a scam, but 5k a month, every month, is good money. If that can be made on craigslist, then I wish you the best.

But I doubt it.

Don't take any risk to your own well-being.

Ill make very low 6 figures this year from craigslist. Its like anything else. Ive found a solid niche thats very profitable right now. I doubt it'll be that way forever.

I cannot prove OP is not scamming, but that is not my read....although I am unclear his motives for wanting to do this, other then to recruit new people in his business for other markets he cannot do himself.

In case it is not clear and for whatever reason he does not want to blatantly disclose his business, but he buys and sells phones. Probably ones that are just older model iphones etc., cracked screens to repair and then sell, and probably jail breaking some of them and selling for a higher price.

I think everything he is asking for in original post regarding bank accounts etc. are not unreasonable. Its a cash based business so if you take on a person in another market you need to transfer money to and from a lot of times with easily/quickly, and you do not want fee's.
