Btw holy FSLR. Gonna have to put that on watch. Eventually that sector is going to be loved again right?

I took a stab at CSIQ when it crossed its 200 day around a month ago, got dicked and sold for a loss today.

BA put spreads have been working well. Not a lot of support until $168/9, stop is pretty well defined at $179. This isn't any sort of long term thesis, a mean reversion play off of ATHs.

Shorted FDAX for 12 points and another 5 in FESX this morning, down move without much dynamic.

At least everyone is getting rich from Aphria making it to the TSX

Also this FSLR meltdown is really something. $28 now? I was thinking $25 was the could not resist spot and now I seriously wonder.

I don't know, on the 20th we have above average volume, this is the news:

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/first...132501922.html

I don't think it changes that much.

BTW, right now FSLR on a GAAP basis sucks a lot in 2017-18 terms.. The graph sucks, and I don't see oil or nat gas recover or going higher, so I don't see how FSLR could make money.

The shareholders equity is jucy, though I need to look at it more carefully because probably it's not worth $50/sh.

Also, the stock is out of the S&P500, so there is more supply(?).

I don't know... at $28.42 it seems juicy, but I do not expect some bounce anytime soon for the sector.

Right now I have also no idea on who's going to make the bigger sales on the sector, probably Tesla, with the Hawaii plant is rising as the up& coming genius of the solar industry and the narrative told to the fools in the market is that they are going to have the biggest penetration and for First, canadian and the other chinese manufacturers is game over...

TLT non-stop grind higher since Fed day & remember there is a huge dislocation short rates/bonds right now. Could get very squeezed if we get above $122.

Anyone have new thoughts on DVAX now?

What was your exit plan going in? If you didn't already have one you shouldn't have bought it in the first place.

Liquidity was really weak to end last week & it looks like that is continuing as futures open. Watch for that TLT breakout, I expect financials especially the higher beta smaller caps to dump as the inflation trade gets unwound a bit. There is no question a bunch of fund managers in the short term will try to step in and value hunt given there is some serious FOMO in these consensus trades. Can't get too greedy with how much cash is still under invested since the Recession. Having said that there are some great short setups if the market cooperates (which has been tough going especially with a major catalyst now behind us).

Is Brexit finally happening something the markets will be concerned with?

Futures off .75% right now, probably based on the healthcare failure

If you mean the invoking of Article 50 this coming Wednesday then it will not make a smidgen of difference to the markets, it has been headline news for quite a while now that it would be triggered around this date. The only unknown shock that would cause the markets to react about that would be if it was announced we were not going to trigger it.

Actual Brexit won't happen for most likely two years, the exact terms of which are unknown at this point.

TODAY you're gonna see weed recover. Should be interesting open. Weed legislation in time for 4/20 and targets of summer 2018 for legalization. Probably longer than most wanted but at least it's a real commitment.
03-27-2017 , 07:51 AM
welll loooook who comes craaaaaawling back.
03-27-2017 , 07:56 AM
We're in a trading thread Zangief. Nothing goes down forever, nothing goes up forever. If you want views on INVESTING in weed, there's another thread for that.

Yeah I'm just joshing. I don't get attached to random tickers. The tone of this thread can be a bit stuffy. I'll continue to try to up my content.
03-27-2017 , 08:18 AM
One thing is for sure, shorts will be covering here in a big way. Guesses for the high on the day? I'm gonna say just short of $12.
03-27-2017 , 08:35 AM
I've got like 20% in cash so do you have any opinions on what to grab at the open?

I'm also bagholding RVV (which I suspected was a scam and still bought purely on TA)... don't know whether to offload it and get a chunk of a real company ASAP.
03-27-2017 , 09:05 AM
honestly if it opens at 11.50 I don't even know what sort of great risk reward there is? On the one hand yes it's finally being put to paper. On the downside was anyone really hoping for Summer 2018? I doubt the growers were. I'm just watching today. I don't see some great edge if it opens mid 11's. Rooting for anyone who does make $ though.
03-27-2017 , 09:08 AM
hm. Okay lets gamble that MJN retouches its 3.20 resistance then?
