Just took my first little piece of AGN off the table, will look to buy it back lower. Been an insane couple of days. There is headline risk but considerable potential upside even after the run since last month.

(Humble brag) I almost never trade options, but I bought the NVDA 115 calls expiring this Friday yesterday. It seemed insane to me that a 5% move in it was basically priced out of the question considering AMD reported yesterday after the close, the technicals pointing to a breakout, and earnings coming up next week.

So Qualcomm is offering a $110 tender offer for NXPI expiring 2/3. Any reason I shouldn't take this?

I like NXPI and I own a fair amount, but it'll likely take a few months to close. I'd guess 3 best case but probably closer to year end

I guess I mean if I have these shares in a Roth and therefore am not worried about the capital gains, do I have better options? What would be the downside, just the closing time?
02-02-2017 , 10:43 AM
Well, the time value of money, or the deal breaks and NXPI trades down to like $70.

PULM :O sigh chickened out and sold 2/3 of my pos right before it's massive runup lol. Whatever. Still made a bit. It's gonna plummet for the morning and then rise back up later today.

FB is done IMO...all downhill from here over the next year or two.

lots of room for swings on PULM dudes.

Got it for 3.8-> 5
5.5->6
6.5->6.3
6.1-> 6.5 and 6.7

kicking myself for the tiny initial position etc. Considering I spotted 3 of the biggest movers in the past two days I really should be up a lot more. Nowhere near optimized. I need to hit the books hard but it's starting to distract from my profession. Sorry for the rambling.

PULM is run by the same promoters as MGT. Hoenig and Brauser run a shell game

Purely swing plays based off amateur tech analysis. Imho the company is blegh. For example 6.4 was a pretty tough resistance point so I'm in again at 6.41.

edit: and out 6.71

edit: lol and in 5.99

I think I like this too. I might take a nibble at $221ish.

Quite a big miss for Amazon overall, and revenue guidance substantially down for next quarter - not looking good at these highs even after the 3% drop already...

I got out of PULM down 5 cents from 5.99. Watched it the rest of the day.

Gambling on PULM at 4.96, NAKD at 2.7, still holding X, still holding CSBR and I think it was healthy pullback over the past 48 hours. TWLO is over shorted but I don't have it.

Only bag I'm still holding is GLBS sigh.

Having an incredible couple weeks after a pretty slow start to the year. DATA sweep of April $55 calls into the close on Tuesday, then short term Feb $43 put selling yesterday. Can't get much better especially with a huge gap to fill on the chart. Love these sort of setups, very similar to what happened the 1/4 after LNKD was cut in half.

Ok so when so we scale into UAA? I half feel like being a fish and just martingaling in with every drop.

In all seriousness though, it's on mega watch now. What a drop. Noticed RAD in a similar state but I dont know the company or the chart too well.
02-03-2017 , 10:38 AM
woot. Sigh. 3 days of great AH picks and I'm barely up on the month.

in NAKD 2.77 out 4.4
in PULM 4.96 out 5.77

Anyone taken a look at SRCL? There's lawsuit news today about pricing fraud, which doesn't seem like the mark of a healthy business. The chart for the past year and a half looks like a death spiral

Disclaimer: I got the go ahead from Ahnuld to post this here.

Hey guys, I used to be a professional poker player back from around 2003-2010. I transitioned out of poker and now trade equity options after Black Friday. Seems like poker players have done well overall at my firm, so we wanted to make a post here for anyone that might be interested in potentially following in my footsteps or is just interested in general:

Cutler Group, LP is looking for elite level quantitative gamers or quantitative analysts/traders to join their Trading team in San Francisco. Our Traders operate a very sophisticated automated trading system but also have significant flexibility to tune their trading towards intuitive or other non-systematized biases or ideas. Poker players, card counters and other highly optimized quantitative gamers or traders will feel at home with our system, and would have a great chance to find success in this role. If you enjoy playing complex mathematical games and are uniquely talented at them, then we would like to hear from you. There will be mentoring and classes in Options Theory and Trading, Financial Markets, Game Theory and Fundamental Stock Research and Analysis.

Preferred: Experience and training in Quantitative Finance, a gaming and gambling background, uncommon intelligence.

PS. No non-competes, no deferred comp, full benefits, huge upside and some fun, very competitive poker.

If you are interested or have questions please send an email to recruiting@cutlergrouplp.com

Thanks

I realize that it was a pretty ridiculous question, I guess the purpose was to try to get a feel for peoples trading styles when they post an idea and whether or not i may be overtrading compared to some of the sickos in here. Then look at the chart setup myself and see if I can decipher why someone would be thinking about entering/exiting common or options, swinging, intraday bla bla bla

it seems the majority of the posts in here revolve around people humblebragging their winners after the position is closed and thats that

Yeah for sure too many people enjoying posting trades after the fact. Too bad, would be nice if more people posted their buys. Some do!

As for how many trades, never the same for me. Haven't done one yet this year, it's February. Some months might be a few per day. I also don't trade for a living.
