OVTI is being acquired by Hua Capital, CITIC and GoldStone Investment for $29.75 in cash. The shares are currently trading below the price when the deal was announced and are offering a 15% return or a 28% ARR. I think investors are worried the deal will be pulled because of the collapse in the Chinese stock market. I don't think this is likely but even if that does happen the company is trading at 11x next years earnings with $9 a share in cash and is beginning to tap into new opportunities outside of mobile so I don't expect a major sell off. There is additional regulatory approval that is required from the US/Chinese/Taiwanese gov. but nothing that will cause the deal to fall through. I expect the deal to close in late 4Q/early 1Q.

My numbers look something like this

60% chance deal happens at 29.75 in next 4-6 months
20% chance deal happens at 29.75 but takes 6-8
20% chance deal doesn't happen and shares fall to $23.5

I started buying shares today and will add on further weakness

I wouldn't put 23% of the float being held short as a glowing recommendation.

I think I like Gold here to bad can't buy GLD tom. gonna see if I can pick up some GC . I do think we rally hard on a Greek no vote but won't fall on a yes vote.

I don't hate this, but the correlation between gold and the stock markets has been crappy recently.

Technically broken, service has low barriers to entry, seems dead already.

Bought OWW and OVTI. Feel like a lot of the deals are overdone due to the Greece and China vol.
07-06-2015 , 01:39 PM
Added to OVTI as well looks like its selling of today because they rescheduled share holder meeting.

The spread in MEA has really widened not sure what to make of it I bought some when it was at 50 cents with the hopes Weitsman raises his bid but that seems unlikely after reading the filling. Contemplating adding here the current ARR works out to 300% but the downside is pretty substantial if the deal falls through.

Edited ARR #

For the time being, I'm going with selling the news. Shorting 30 year treasuries today.
07-06-2015 , 02:15 PM
ARR on MEA is basically irrelevant. At this point it's 15c upside with probably 20c downside, so it doesn't have to go through a really high % of the time to work out. It looks a little sketchy so I'm happy with a small position. There are better deals out there to add to imo

sold yelp @ 37.40 , covered half of wmt @ 72.16 ,, trying to cover some hrb..

Having the same thing with long CHK, short (holding january puts) TSLA (270p) and NFLX (600p).

CHK keeps getting torched to the ground. TSLA and NFLX both have ER this month.

Institutional money for sure foreshadowed the route in USO the last few days. Really starting to enjoy reading the COT. Wish our pump prices would follow. Ours haven't moved a cent yet, so weird.

Anyone know what is going on with silver price today? SLV is down 4.2%
07-07-2015 , 11:23 AM
Lol Domer u may be able to buy into TLW and CSIQ at $19 again the way things are going.
07-07-2015 , 11:29 AM
yeah, YHOO is also getting very cheap, dropping with BABA obv.

the lower YHOO goes, the higher the percentage upside is for the tax-free spinoff of BABA and Yahoo Japan.

Credit where it's due.

I am in some things but cashed out to the tune of 65% cash 35% stock last week and I'm down 5% or so on the invested money. Have to wait for it to come back at some point but I actually listened to Cramer last week or week before. Cramer said the initial drop due to Greece was just a precursor. I sold everything then started trying to cherry pick. The attempt to cherry pick was my bad move.

Anyone contemplating knife catching with China? FXI etc...

Started watching pretty closely, seems like a decent opportunity presenting itself in the wake of the panic out there.

Could make a killing on a 3x bull if you time it right.
