Re: $15,000 cash and limited manpower to devote; how to generate $100 a week?

You should look into affiliate marketing. It requires you learning how to get websites up and running, which could come in handy down the road. I'd only take 1k or so to get this going though. You can start this for $100 if you want. Just don't get sucked into putting in a bunch of money when you don't know what you are doing. It's easy to get carried away with paying people a bunch of money to do the work for you and then end up getting no return.

Would you recommend just being point-man on a project like this; coordinating the logistics of getting a site running, or actually learning whatever programming is associated with starting a web-site?

How content driven are these affiliate sites? Would it require articles/blog posts as the attraction to the page and then have links to affiliate sites where products can be purchased? Or is it something entirely different than that?

I would do it all yourself. It's not overly difficult to learn how to get decent word press or joomla sites up. These sites are almost very content driven. Most of your time would go to writing high quality content.

You got the basic idea. Usually you make a site with a bunch of content about your given niche then recommend certain products and write reviews for them.

That's $1500/year, or $28.8/week. Depending on your tax bracket, you're already about 1/5 of the way to your goal without actually doing any work.
15 % yield avg? What's the catch? Sorry I'm a complete n00b but I'd love to put money into something that would avg 15 %

There is huge downside risk to principal with anything yielding that much. If you don't know what you're doing you can safely ignore these.

anything over 5% yield is doomed to fail.

using dividend yield as a forecast for your returns is just stupid.

look at a really diversified basket of stocks, say the spy, it yields 2%, you'd be retarded to forecast that you'll make $4 a week from a $10k investment. just one day's price move is $100.

No one is doing this or anything close to it. The point made was simply that the statement that anything with a yield greater than 5% is doomed to fail is false.

talking about yield in the same bracket as returns doesn't make any sense.

Maybe although he is talking about RIETs. As a general rule I assume anyone who has been lived in a van at some point the in their recent history will not say anything useful so I had skipped that post.
