Now I'm not a 100% on this but the rurmor right now in Vegas is that harrahs is begining to move several key personal and there gonna be slapin the for sale sign up soon. Now this years wsop is locked in but I"d be very suprised if it next year...so what do you guys think would this be a good or bad thing....and what's the most likely property it will go to?

Harrah's itself already got sold! That is old news diff people own it now but its still technically Harrah's cause its ran by the same people so i dont see the wsop going anywhere!

harrah's went private a few years ago than changed the name to caesars (which they already owned).

there is definitely a chance they would sell off a property or two in Vegas. They have a ton of debt. Rio might be a possibility. I suppose they could see off the World Series brand but does not seem to make any sense, since the circuit events are very popular.

so all in all if there were any change in the WSOP, it would likely just be a venue change to Caesars's or something (which they own.)

Makes sense, Rio is not on the strip and probably wouldn't do as well.

I think this was the plan even before the first one at the Rio.

If I remember correctly, the plan was to move it to the Rio for 1 year bc they already had the space available for it, then ship it to Caesars for a permanent placement.

NO harrahs is selling the rio...the rio isn't doing very well right now and harrahs will sell if they can... They just bought planet Hollywood which has about $600,000,000 in debt which is just about how much they would get for rio

Harrah's is not "selling the Rio". They are simply willing to sell it. This hasn't been much of a secret. This same topic came up last year as well. Who's your source? Some grave shift at a strip property who gets to floor during the week? The two most likely potential buyers for Rio I don't see biting right now.

I've already stated that i'm not 100% about this but my source thinks this looks like jt maybe more likely to happen now that they have gone and bought ph as well as it's hotel. Hey I'm not saying your gonna see it change hands tomrrow or anything but I wouldn't be suprised if this was the last time you saw it at rio.

The Rio is such a shizhole....it has a craptonne of space though, and its set up well to hold a tournament series of the WSOP's size.

The WSOP at the RIO has always been sorta inconvenient--shuttle/taxis if you arent staying at the BS Rio- and awkward to me. Ive been in Vegas during the WSOP for yrs now...the best thing about the RIO is how insanely bad the donkament players play in the midlimit NLH cash games there. 2/5 and 5/10 is softer than any other place/time of the yr there imho.(home gameaments excepted+ i never played big bet in fla.)

I don;t think there's any room for the WSOP at Caesar's...correct me if I'm wrong

Caesars is massive, I'm sure they could find a way to make room.
