June 1-18

Playing
Colossus
6-max $1500
Milly (maybe)
Marathon (anyone have any idea expected entries? there's no guarantee right?)
some side events at the wynn and venetian

Staying
at the VDARA
will be cooking instead of eating out they have a nice kitchen
occasionally eating out (can anyone recommend good vegan places to eat?)

this will be my 3rd year (2015 got 149th in the Milly, 2016 came in 451st in the Colossus)

Coolers and bad beats (I'll keep it short promise)
6-max 2016 i get moved tables, utg opens she gets to showdown and shows KJo. next orbit she opens again utg. i call otb w A5s. flop K55 rainbow. she bets i call. turn 4 she bets i raise she reraises. i just call. river deuce she shoves. we were deep and the river shove is about a pot sized bet and she's got me covered. i tank forever and say sorry guys i just don't see how i can fold this. and so i call. she has KK. gtfoh. i got 300th place or so out of 1600.

Colossus 2016 461 players left. i'm short w 9 bigs. i open shove from the cutoff w K9o. bb w about 35 bigs calls w J7o. not a bad beat or cooler or anything. i'm a small favorite. BUT, the flop comes K23 rainbow. at this point i'm a 98.5% favorite. turn 7. river J. GTFOH!!

I know this isn't a TR thread but I enjoyed the cliffs on previous trips.

What was your experience on playing the milly maker? Playing my first wsop event, and it's also my biggest buyin by a decent margin. It gets a pretty big field from what I gather. Does it come down to getting a good table draw or what is the general skill set of an average table? Thanks and GL this series.

It's times like this that we live for

I'm planning on going to Vegas on June 2nd. Going to be staying at a friends place while I'm there. It will be my first time going to Vegas for the WSOP. Going to play in the Colossus and if I bust that I'll play in the MSPT main at the Venetian. I plan on playing a few of the 1k-1.5k WSOP events as well. Possibly the Marathon and Millymaker.

If anyone has any advice on cash games and satellites I would appreciate it. Are most of the good cash games at the Rio? Can I table select and ask to be moved to certain tables? Would only be playing 1-2, 2-5, 5-10(max). Also, is there a fee to setup a safety deposit box at the Rio? Not really sure how players handle storing their money while at the WSOP. Any advice is appreciated.

My trip is only scheduled for 2 weeks but if things go well I might end up staying longer and playing in the WSOP ME. Cheers to a great WSOP everyone.

Cash games are generally great throughout, 1/2 and 1/3 will be awesome everywhere. 2/5 is good at Rio but can he better in Venetian, Aria, Bellagio etc. Not sure about sattys.

Re boxes, I think it's $75 at the Rio for a month, but don't quote me on that. I tried to set one up in the Venetian tonight and they're only offering that facility to hotel guests.

Been here 12 hours, 4 of which spent playing 2/5. Games are gooooooooood!

I'm coming out on June 13 and staying about a week. Staying at Venetian and Bellagio. Had to split it up to maximize free nights. Playing the $1500 Big O/PLO8/O8 Mix and Big O and PLO cash.

Coming out again for another week on July 5 for the $1100 DSE Big O/PLO/PLO8 Mix and cash.

Arrived last night and here till the 8th or 9th of June. Slumming it at the Linq since I'm solo but actually seems OK so far tbh - pleasantly surprised!

Plan on mainly playing 1-2/3 with maybe some 2/5 later if it's going well. Tourney wise I'll be playing the 150 $100k GTD Golden Nugget (willing to fire 3x if need be) and maaaaybe the Colossus if I satellite in or decide lol bracelet despite the structure sounds pretty terrible. Open to suggestions on donkaments up to around $300 though.

Maybe a daily deepstack or two but not sure I fancy a 15 hour 1 day tourney...

Still no trips to the Rio for this summer...flew in Wednesday morning for the first of three trips this month. Staying cheap at Four Queens since originally I thought I would be playing downtown the first two days. Hey, the room each night was less than the resort fee charged most places...got put into the north tower and had no issues with noise that interfered with sleep).

Was going to look at the NL Horse at the Nugget, but after going over an hour ahead of time and inquiring about whether each game was actually NL, decided that Stud/8 might not be so fun as a NL game. Wasn't fond of NL razz either. So...elected to skip that (wise choice since it apparently did not draw two dozen runners) and went to the Venetian for the $400 O8/B and final tabled that one. The 7th place cash was certainly more than I would have pulled had I binked the NL HORSE

Was wiped out by the time I busted since I had been up just shy of 24 hours and the better part of 40 of the past 48 hours. Still could not sleep beyond 530A local time (too many years of being up by that time). Wandered around for a bit and then played the Triple Draw Mix at the Nugget...busted in 13th, but no money since with 53 runners, only top 6 got paid. Went out with badugi over badugi.

Tried playing PHo Friday for the $250 O8/B and it was a clusterf*ck. First dealer clearly did not know how to pitch poker of any type and was over her head in O8/B. There were a few others that followed that were at least competent at pitching and reading the board but had no control of the table. More than once, I had a pot that got jacked up when the dealer was trying to make change while betting was still going on or in some cases, failed to do anything when a few 'table captain' types insisted on doing so. Change is something that shouldn't be made until betting has closed, no matter HOW well-intentioned someone might be. Add in a few at my end of the table that just had zero clue how shrill and annoying their voice was and I was never so glad to bust an event before the dinner break in all my life. The dealers were enough that I have effectively decided to scratch PHo off of the next two trips.

I flew back home this AM to deal with things in the office tomorrow and Monday, but return to LAS on Monday night.

Sportsbook was good to me as well, and was quite happy to see WCWS in the WilliamHill books. Biggest bust was figuring the Astros bubble had to pop but they just keep winning. Also loved the Binions double-deck BJ running at 8AM...dealer and pit boss were sociable, which you sometimes don't see in the morning hours.

Will be playing at least two events at the Rio next week, including probably the $1,500 HORSE.

Third trip (the following week) is a late-week return for Seniors week.

This is my first-ever trip to the WSOP! Can someone answer brief questions for me about 2/5 at the Rio? Is it a 1000 max or 500, and how deep do those games get?

PH doesn't seem to get that while players want good structures, that is offset by bad dealers.
Also, why they think anyone wants to play day 1 of $600 event until 6 a.m. is beyond me.

Linq. June 29 - July 5.
Bringing 5k for poker, 1k for craps.
Events 58, 60, 64, some plo cash. Couple bullets in 888. Will have 90% of my action.
Only success in Vegas is a 3rd in deepstacks for 15k years ago. 0 for 7 in wsop events over last 5 years including 1 time in main and busting super early. Hopefully sample size is partly to blame! Have transferred from somewhat successful online player years ago to now recreational player playing handful of times a year. Studying specialty beers I can indulge in instead of poker strategy. Have a tradition of walking back to strip after busting every wsop event.

Starting to get excited.

Best friend's son getting married next Saturday in Kansas. I'm headed there Tuesday, a few days early, to play some poker at the Kansas Star casino outside Wichita.

Then to the wedding on Saturday and driving home to Illinois on Sunday. Then fly to Vegas on Monday the 26th for 10 days.

Good luck me!

Planning a last minute trip out there to play the little one drop and some cash. Staying at the Rio.

Would anyone please tell me what the max buy in for the 1-2-5 and 5-5-straddle PLO games at the wsop are?

Thank you and best of luck to all.

Going next Thursday through June 20th. Will play a bunch of events all over town. Mostly small $300-$1000 stuff. I’ll also play 1/3 and 2/5 NLH and PLO. Then last year I became obsessed with the single table satellites so I’ll play those

I'm going from June 11th thru the 29th. Booked thru Priceline for $1386 air and 18 nights at the Plaza downtown.

If you haven't booked your room yet, the following link may be useful: https://www.lasvegasjaunt.com/las-ve...es-2018-guide/

This lists mandatory resort fees charged by the hotels and what you receive for the fee. Resort fees can range up to $44.21 per night (including the 13.38% sales tax) and, when tacked onto the daily room rate, double your effective lodging cost.

Lots of choices for poker this time of the year. http://www.rainbowspuppiessunshine.c...ournaments.php

I plan on playing in all or several of these senior events: Golden Nugget's $260 seniors, $370 seniors, and $1000 seniors, Planet Hollywood's $600 seniors, the WSOP $1000 Super Seniors, Aria's $470 seniors, and the Orleans' $400 senior.

I plan on playing a few other Golden Nugget Grand events including the $200 tag team at 7pm on June 11th (I need a partner if anyone's interested) , the $120 bounty, the $260 8-game, and 2 or 3 bullets into the $150 multi-flight $150k guaranteed.

https://www.goldennugget.com/content...ure-sheets.pdf

As for non-poker activities, I plan to visit a couple of bars at opposite ends of the spectrum:

Hogs & Heifers at 201 N. 3rd street is a loud and rowdy dive bar with bikini clad bartenders wielding megaphones with which to razz & tease the customers.

At the drop of a hat they'll jump up on the bar and do some clog dancing.

Female patrons are encouraged to remove their bra and add them to the collection behind the bar.

http://hogsandheifers.com/

A few blocks away at 517 E. Fremont is "Don't Tell Mama", a New York style piano bar. Lots of talented folks singing everything from pop, to country, to show tunes, to standards. Best free show in Vegas if you like a good piano bar.

https://www.facebook.com/donttellmamalv/

I plan to spend an afternoon re-visiting the pinball hall of fame to squander a few quarters and try to recapture a piece of my misspent youth.

http://www.pinballmuseum.org/

Will spend an evening or two sipping a drink and enjoying the saxophone play of Carl "Safe Sax" Ferris on Fremont Street, just outside the Golden Nugget's corner entrance. Show is free and if you like the saxophone as much as I do, great entertainment.
