Downtown hotels with no resort fee include The Fremont, The 4 Queens, and Main Street Station.

I booked with Priceline and am staying at The 4 Queens for $45 per night including tax. Hard to beat.

You'll need to take a cab, uber, or bus to Rio but at these rates you'll be able spend some on transportation.
When are you going? 4 queens for me 10 days is $1090

Updated since schedules are finalized.

Linq for a total of 9 nights & GC for 2 weeks. Got some surprisingly good deals, so >40% of my hotel cost will be RF @ Linq.

Will be playing more PLO than I expected, and probably a bit of Stud 8 & LO8, but mostly PLO8 (incl. Big O).

It's pretty amazing to be able to play a decent O8, PLO, or Stud 8 MTT just about every day for > 3 weeks. I like how the schedule will build: First few days are lower BIs ($365 to $1k) with a good mix favoring PLO, second week includes at least a couple $1.5k MTTs and still has a good mix favoring PLO8, last ~10 days will be mostly PLO8 MTTs of at least $1.1k.

I arrive June 26 and check out July 6. Are you going over the weekend of June 16, 17, 18? That's the weekend of EDC and room rates are jacked all over town.

I'm also only staying over one weekend. Fri and Sat are higher. Sunday of EDC weekend shows at $129 while the Sunday before and the Sunday after are $39.

Ill Start..
I'm staying at the Aria and will only be able to go for 4-5 days
I will mostly be playing 5/10-10/20 NL Cash and maybe some PLO if I start losing. I will also play ONE maybe TWO $1500-$5000 buy-in Tornys.
I will be going with only 12-15k in my pocket
Thanks for starting the thread!
Since you asked so nicely, here is my plan ... I have two scheduled events I'd like to play, one on a Monday and the second the following Friday, so I'm looking at two weeks from 4 -17 June. Like you, taking about the same $$ and have similar plans. I booked Airbnb - saving the resort fees and taxes alone will save nearly $500 which is 1/3 of the buy in for the primary event I'm planning to play. I haven't decided if I will drive in (21 hours) or fly in and rent a car from Toru. Probably fly? I like playing at some of the outlying rooms like Suncoast, Red Rock or Southpoint so I definitely will use a car.

Looking at the moment to bring a prize pool donation for the $1500 Dealer's Choice event. Follow up at the end with the 8-game mix at The Grand tournament series at the Golden Nugget for $365 prize pool donation. If I happen to smash it at cash games I may donate to someone's prize pool in another event or two, with an eye on the $1,500 8-game mix and $565 PLO.

Definitely will be playing cash games in between, primarily searching high and low for HORSE or mixed games at the sub $10k buy-in level lol. The good thing about the series is a lot more players are in town that want those games, so rooms will run them. The bad news about the series is there are a lot more players in town and a room might choose to not run a mixed game, even if they have the players, because the game is always slower and they can't push as many hands per hour for max rake income. If I can't find a decent mixed game or PLO I guess I'll find some hold 'em to play.

I will share my itinerary for the upcoming poker festivities:

1500 HORSE 3000 HORSE 2500 OE
Plus a couple of events at other venues.

Depending on how I start out (tourney and cash games) a 10k limit event is certainly a goal

I would imagine TJ will be playing the Casino Employees event. He's been saving $10 per week from his new job emptying the trash on the casino floor at Luxor.

I will be staying downtown @ the Grand in June. Cheap rooms, cheap food and drink options, and there are some tournaments going off down here too.

Pm me if you want to share digits to split a ride to rio, v or ph.

I'm 32 years old, and have been playing poker since the 'moneymaker boom' around 2003. I play recreationally about once a week at a local casino (1/3 nl and sometimes weekky $60-$100 mtts). Over the last 4 years, each year I've built a poker roll and taken it to Vegas for the series. I love vegas and I love the atmosphere that the WSOP provides for the rec poker player. I've taken about $5k in cash over the past 4 years(most of this is from the poker roll, some years I've added a little to get it to $5k). I'm fortunate enough to have a steady, well paying job and a loving wife that allows me to go have fun in the desert for a 5-6 day trip each summer. Over the past 4 years I have played 1-2 WSOP events each year. On year 1 and 2, I went semi deep (post dinner day 2) on a 1500 6 max, and a 1500 nl event. Last year, I didn't even make the dinner break of a 1500 6 max and busted 20 minutes into the millionaire maker when I flopped broadway with aq, and lost it all to kk when he boated up on the river (money went in on the turn). This year I will arrive June 21, planning on playing the $1500 shootout on 6/22 and monster stack on 6/24 or 6/25. If I don't make day 2 of the shootout, I will most likely play the 1k aria on 6/23. The first couple years, I went back with more money than I arrived with, and last year I just about broke even(had an epic +3k 2/5 session at the rio that made my 2 $1500 bust outs back). This year, I will be bringing about $6k with me (4k for the 3 mtts, and 2k for cash games). I'm open to any advice, comments, and would love to hear anyone else's plans. Thanks for reading!

Looking forward to playing a few daily deepstacked tournaments and grind the 1/3 cash games at the Rio and then head over to the Bellagio and Aria for more cash games. Taking a $2K roll and hoping to RUN.IT.UP!

Planning my first WSOP trip since 2010... It has been too long.

Staying 4 nights 5 days at Harrah's. The whole thing resort fees and all was like $285 and $550 for a Delta flight. Harrah's is a perfect central location on the strip, right next to McDonald's if I want a Coke or sweet tea and if I want to save $$ on a few meals. Free shuttles to the Rio because it is a Caesar's hotel, so no need to rent a car.
Will arrive in time to play both the Colossus flights Saturday and Sunday if necessary. Won't play much cash, it's all about going deep in this tourney for me.

I finalized my plans about a month ago. Will be in town for 10 days and staying downtown for the cheap rooms and lower stakes table games. Staying 10 nites at the 4 Queens for $450 including tax (No bogus resort fees).

Plan to play cash as well as some tourneys, including the WSOP Crazy 8, the Golden Nugget series, and the Binion series.

I'll also do some low stakes gambling in the pits ($5 tables) and plug some $.25 video poker machines at the bars.

I have trouble walking any kind of distance so I rent an electric scooter when in Vegas. It's the best money I spend each year. Not only does it make it easier for me to get around, but I always have a seat when on breaks, in lines, or simply people watching on Fremont street.

My cost for 10 days is $129 and they deliver direct to your hotel. When your trip is over just drop it off at the front desk.

https://yellowscooters.com/

One side trip I'll be taking is to the Pinball Hall Of Fame. The Pinball Hall of Fame is an attempt by the members of the Las Vegas Pinball Collectors Club to house and display the world's largest pinball collection, open to the public. A not-for-profit corporation was established to further this cause. The games belong to one club member (Tim Arnold), and range from 1950s up to 1990s pinball machines. Since it is a non-profit museum, older games from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s are the focus, as this was the 'heyday' of pinball.

A great and inexpensive way to spend an afternoon and relive some of my misspent youth.

http://www.pinballmuseum.org/

Gourmet meals at world famous restaurants are available in Vegas but cheap and delicious meals are still offered if you hunt around a little. At least once on my trip I'll enjoy a full rack of ribs, baked beans, corn on the cob, coleslaw, and cornbread at Binion's for $13.99

http://www.binions.com/pdf/dining/bennys_bbq_menu.pdf

Also downtown is the world famous Heart Attack Grill. Good for a laugh and a decent burger, if a little overpriced.

The menu includes the Single Bypass Burger®, Double Bypass Burger®, Triple Bypass Burger®, Quadruple Bypass Burger®, Quintuple Bypass Burger™, Sextuple Bypass Burger™, Septuple Bypass Burger™, and the Octuple Bypass Burger™ (with 40 bacon slices).
These dishes range in weight from half a pound to four pounds of beef. Also on the menu are Flatliner Fries® (cooked in pure lard) and the Coronary Dog™, Lucky Strike no filter cigarettes, alcohol, Butterfat Milkshakes™, full sugar Coca-Cola, and candy cigarettes for the kids!

No salads, no diet drinks.

The waitresses are dressed as nurses and customers must wear a hospital gown. If you don't finish your meal a nurse will paddle your butt, hard!

If you are over 350 lbs (and prove it by getting on their cattle scale) you get unlimited all you can eat food.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zFUfg1vc5Q

http://www.heartattackgrill.com/

I'll spend some time ogling the bikini clad waitresses as they dance on the bar at Hogs And Heifers, an iconic dive bar just off Fremont street. I'll nurse my overpriced PBR as the bartenders harass and berate the customers with megaphones and cajole the female customers to remove and add their bra to the collection above the bar.

http://hogsandheifers.com/

I plan to play the WSOP Crazy 8 tournament at the Rio and while there, ride the Voodoo zipline. This zipline travels from the corner of the Masquerade tower to the Ipanema tower. 400 feet high and 800 feet long, it takes a little over a minute and then travels backwards to the starting point.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNh_8FSz0Ek

http://voodoozipline.com/

I plan on playing in the poker series going on at Binion's and the Golden Nugget, including their $570 Event #50 with a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Speaking of the Golden Nugget, I'll be parked outside their main entrance several nights during my stay, sipping a drink and listening to Carl "Safe Sax" Ferris as he performs free as part of the Fremont Street Experience. I'm a sucker for the saxaphone and he does not disappoint.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osv2Guju2EI

I wish everyone well on their poker exploits if they're not at my table and recommend they get out of the cardrooms at least a little and see what else Vegas has to offer.

Like others, I am at Four Queens for the first two trips (during first and second weeks of June, with a quick return home to deal with things in the office). Most of what I was playing those two weeks will be downtown anyhow, so it was convenient with the bonus of no resort fees. I booked through Amex so I could get my 5x points...but I will still try to finagle something back once on property with event receipts in hand because, why not...worst that happens is they laugh and say no. I'm still there for ten nights in that period for under $400.00 with those costs having been paid before I ever take off...

Entry fees won't be too bad either...since most of the downtown stuff is under $300, it limits what I need to have on hand. Frustrating day will be the 6th since it had two HORSE events AND a NL 2-7 event to go with an O8 across four different properties.

The final trip is more costly on rooms...I'm splurging though since I hit 50 during that trip. Aria for two nights and unsure on the other three...got real frustrated with listings on VRBO due to everything from 'calendar function doesn't work' to hidden fees to one owner that will not rent to a solo traveler. And yes, that final week is for the Seniors events commencing Friday. Perhaps not the best of structures, but one only gets to be the kid at the table once in their life
