For us rec players, this is huge! $565 5 million guarantee? This will be huge. Make it a bracelet event and it will set records that will never be broken, 15,000 entrants?
12-23-2014 , 02:43 PM
Looks like some good changes that they are making this year. Should bring more recs to the wsop.
12-23-2014 , 02:47 PM
Is the 5mil gtd a bracelet event?
12-23-2014 , 02:55 PM
WSOP confirmed it is a bracelet event. Can you say 15000 entrants?
12-23-2014 , 02:57 PM
Is the full schedule out or just the highlights at this stage?
12-23-2014 , 02:59 PM
Bracelet events should be $1K minimum if they are to have any prestige. Are they going to have $60 satellites into this event? LOL. The economy has recovered we don't need a race to the bottom.

Eliminating 25/25 to add 66% to stacks is a net loss in stack depth. I thought Jack Effel was above shady gimmicks like this to screw players but apparently not.

Id rather have 5k chips and start 25-50 than 3k and start 25-25.

Wow. This will be madness! I'm wondering how many day 1's we're gonna see.

Eliminating 25/25 to add 80% to stacks is a net loss in stack depth. I thought Jack Effel was above shady gimmicks like this to screw players but apparently not.
Can't consider it screwing players when it will get 15k people that will play and not ever know anything other than they played for a bracelet.

Edit: oops math

Someone bored I'd appreciate the math on how many hands it takes to be blinded off the table in the old format vs new. Also keep in mind antes kick in one round sooner.

It says for the Ladies Event it starts with 5,000 chips which is a 100 big blind starting stack. I think that would mean it was 25/50 to start.

Much better to be playing at a table with 50k total chips at the onset.

Players will go off for 5k rather than 3k.

There's 4 total flights: 10am and 4pm May 29 and 30. Players eliminated in a flight can re-enter later flights.

Of course people will go broke earlier with shallower stacks. That's the criticism.

Surprised the $100k One Drop event is back.

There was a 25K, 100K, and 50K tournament this month in Vegas. There's plenty of demand. I'm surprised players haven't tired of the ridiculous rake on One Drops yet.

25-25 with 3k stacks vs
25-50 with 5k stacks

Which table would you prefer to sit at assuming all the levels are the same after 25-50?
12-23-2014 , 03:30 PM
25 50. More chips on table means one had a chance to build a stack to make a run.

The last 111k 1 drop had very reasonable rake (3333). Hope this one is the same.

Great to see that WSOP 2015 season kicks off on the right foot with Allen bitching about the starting stacks at 25-50 no ante level, you're doing gods work buddy.
12-23-2014 , 03:43 PM
Great job WSOP.
