same here but I think winning this $565 tourney will be far more prestigious than something like the 10k stud or similar

How will this affect stacks of bigger buyin events. Are they all going to 5x stacks?

A $2500nl gets 7500 and a $1500 gets 7500 chips as well, as it stands now.

As Seth Palansky noted, the increase of stacks is likely for the smaller buy-in events.

I thought WSOP (and most other live tournaments) do the withhold 2-3% out of the prize pool for dealers. I would consider that part of rake too even though it wouldn't show up that way on a structure sheet.

This! I too am fired up for this donkament. Think about the mass of humanity that will descend on the Rio! The Elite of poker side by side with the dregs of society! Even a real homeless bum could panhandle a buy in for this one!

Rio - here we come!!

I think that The Colossus will be a huge success. I also think that many players only play one event at the WSOP. As a result, I expect The Monster Stack to have a smaller field than last year. Also, the Super Senior will cut into the Senior event field size. In fact, this may be a huge mistake as 50 to 55 year olds play the Senior event hoping to have an edge against the over 65 crowd. Expect a Lower turn out at the Seniors. I bet the combined total of the Senior and Super Senior will be less that just last years senior alone.

Anyone have link for full schedule?

The 550 will be ridiculous hope they have a way to manage the turnout better than the monster stack from last year which was a total nightmare

For the past 2 or 3 years, it hasn't been published until early Feb.
This announcement is the standard opening one, highlighting the key dates.

This is pretty big news. Good for the game.

depends on structure of course

Colossus will be huge, annoyingly ill miss it by a few days as ive already booked flights/accom but it gets people in town and playing poker so i'm all for it - I played a 5k 8game bracelet event at APAC this year, was carddead the whole tournament and finished 17th out of like 48 players or something so i'm pretty sure this bracelet will have more prestige than that one would have despite the buyin being $565, it's going to have 10-20k players which is just crazy for live poker. Taking steps in the right direction imo over just a 'heres another 1k NLHE w 3k start stack' event.

Hoping to see some dealers choice, 6max plo and lots of other nice events on the schedule, good to see monster stack and millionaire maker are back too

I'd also love to see them 5x rather than 3x all of the starting stacks to a) disincentivise (is that even a word) Men the Master style cheating and also bring a little bit more play into the stacks in the early-mid stages, after all they're 1k+ buyin events and that's not really a small tournament.

You do realize that it's not rake, but rather a donation to a charity, right?

The Little one for One Drop was raked at 10%
The High Roller One Drop in 2013 was raked at 3%, but that rake went to One Drop too.

After your edit, that's what I'm saying, the rake was entirely reasonable. 2013 was $333 per player (3% and I think Caesars ended up donating it anyways?) and 2014 Little One was $100 per player (10%). Far from ridiculous.

11th year at the Rio, should be $11,000,000

In the 2013 High Roller they raked 3% from the 111,111 (3,333) and donated it.

In the Little One, they donated $111 of the $1,111 entry, then raked the remaining $1000 at 10%.

Yes, $3,333 and $3,000 of it went to donation, which was known to everyone prior to entry. $333 for Caesar's.

If you look at the bottom of this link, you will see that all of the rake went to One Drop. As I remember, the original plan was for Caesars to keep the $333, but they didn't in the end.

was i the only person a little upset they didn't actually buy a NEW chipset for the millionaire maker last year? i expect that we'll just end up using the daily deepstack chips for this thing.
