I suppose the flop 3bet is definitely questionable but as played, folding the turn to the checkraise isn't terrible, right? He was only beating a bluff that would take massive balls to pull off.

Update
One Drop numbers are down.

2017: 130 (correction WSOP.com originally reported 132...29% drop)
2016: 183
2015: 135 (was there reentries?)
2013: 166

Another number that is trending downwards are the daily deepstacks. Tracking the 2pm $235, 2016 and 2017 both had the Colossus right up front in the beginning weeks, here's how they matched up.

2017 first four days: 380,538,706,597 averaging 555 each day
2016 first four days: 538,811,569,739 averaging 660 each day

that's a 16% dip so far.

Today we have the continuation of Colossus which after 1A-1B last year had 5,402 runners, this year it has drawn 4,738. Also the $2.5k Mixed Triple Draw which last year drew 236 runners.
Thanks, These posts are appreciated

Definitely part of it. Went to my local room yesterday and talked to 3 people that's been going out there anywhere from 6-15 years that aren't going this year. All played cash and a lower buy-in bracelet event or 2 out there, and the combo of the expense to get out there and WSOP curcuit events and HPT events either at their home room or close to it are keeping them home. Small sample size I know but it cant be to uncommon of a reason that the numbers are down out there.

Should be a good day:

* Day 3 of One Drop featuring an especially stacked table 3.
* 10k O8 starts
* Lot of top players left in day 2 of Mixed TD (CL at table w/ Ian Johns, Naoya Kihara, Carol Fuchs... Mercier, BS-H and Bleznick... Volpe, Greenstein, and Maria Ho... Martin Staszko & ODB)

Rising cost for travel, resort fees, and parking fees doesn't help. On top of local events nearer to home.

The 2.5k Triple Draw Mix came close to hitting last years number. It drew 225, just 11 short of last years field. You have the day 1's finishing up for the Colussus today, it should come well short of last years number. We also have the 10k O8 coming up, last year it had 163 players.

I got great deals on rooms this summer, but flights are substantially more.

Seems like mixed games are pretty steady, maybe a slight decline.
It's NLH that offers big events everywhere and may take a larger hit.

The best part of the hand was Phil insta 3 betting flop for less than the minimum

leave to Hellmuth to turn trips into a bluff and even then instead of winning the minimum actually lose the hand

Not providing a free stream is the moment WSOP jumped the shark. After 10+ years of loyally following the WSOP I am no longer a spectator.

Greedy bastards.

Chip counts on the stream are way off. They're listing Robl with a hair over a million. He has at least that much in white chips with two stacks of black underneath. That's 2M right there.
