You see that boss call with bottom pair and a player behind? So. ****ing. boss!

Even just today he was fortunate to bust QQ with A9 after hitting ace on turn for 2 pair. Calling an allin on flop

Hesp provides a reminder that poker is about skill (not chance).

He could have gotten to the river with 67 (one raise pf and no bets on flop). But he wouldn't check on the river. Not that Hesp considered any of that..

Props to Ruane for short stack ninja-ing his way through this field today. Hope he makes it to the FT.

I know you are ironic, but i can guarantee that Hesp is a better player than 99% of the people typing in this thread.

Hesp check back is atrocious but he only lost like 7 million chips. Lets not act like it was a tournament changing spot. Sinclair would still have 60 million and keep pounding away. It didn't even change the dynamic of the table.

If Hesp had bet that river with top set JJJ and the turn with top set AAA he could be chip leader right now...

It's too bad cause I think up till the last couple of hours Hesp stumbled upon a decent strategy for these stages. Just betting/raising every piece of the board, when everoyne are too scared to punish the "thin valuebets" (obv he just bets cause its fun).

With almost no one attempting any multistreet bluffs, it was actually pretty great at "denying equity" without the usual downsides when playing competent players.

Now he's just very tired and it's not looking pretty.

Are you kidding? How many times does Hess check back something with the initiative? Sinclair would probably bet close to 100% of his range in that spot...

it actually might help Hesp in the long run because of how unpredictable it makes him. They are going to think he's tight and then he'll make a ridiculous hero call for a huge pot.

Have they cancelled the dinner break

Was meant to be 9pm ET originally

Then it changed to 10:20pm ET

I meant to give my girl some quality time... if there's no dinner break I'm going to need to break up with her...

Anyone know?

And why don't they actually tell you what's happening [with breaks]

Ugh I hope not. Nejad/Shulman were on their game last night. Some of the best live commentary/analysis I've heard in a long time maybe ever.

I haven't watched televised/streamed poker in years. I have been blown away by how much better those two are than anything else I had heard.

Next knockout is another 85K pay jump. May be relevant to Sarkisian, who's short.

Yeah, Sinclair is absolutely just trying to bluff the fish out of the pot (that's never folding, hit or not) along with one other player . Come on.
