all the 10ks in thos games have changed to 5ks... great change imo.

for example, used to be 1.5k or 2.5k AND 10k for thos tournies now its 1.5k and 5k or 2.5k and 5k.

I think DN said it best. WSOP on ESPN needs to be geared toward non players. Show cool stories and crazy hands, but stop w/ UTG+1, VPIP and all the other stats. It cludders the show and people who don't play poker don't want to see it.

I played a few of them last year. I don't remember exactly but I know it's not many chips and the structure is pretty quick. They are fun though and get like 150-400 people

Never liked the delay. I understand DN thoughts on bringing new players to the table but the wait is absurd. Really no benefit to US players who are unlikely to be signed by offshore sites until online poker is legalized. The interest is highest in the WSOP while tournament is ongoing. No other sport or event is delayed to finish it months later. It hasn't happened yet but what if a player comes down with a serious illness is unable to return in November. Sure everything is dictated by ESPN which by the way doesn't contribute one dollar to any of the tournament players pockets other than promoting poker. No doubt the promotion of poker has made players lots of money but think about it. ESPN has a contract with the NBA. That money directly goes to owners which result in larger paychecks for players. MLB is the same. Players gripe about TV scheduling but know that they are paid. ESPN has a contract with Harrah's but casino instead of passing the money onto the players increases the juice and takeout for adminstrative fees. The food comps are a joke as are the room rates. Binion's used to treated the players royally when Benny was alive with lavish buffets and generous food comps the rest of the time. Just imagine if there was poker players union and the players said we will pick our own venue, negotiate a contract with ESPN and the casino as to adminstrative fees and food comps. Harrahs paid alot of money for the WSOP name but it means nothing without the players.
