I had the displeasure of playing with Dave in a WSOP o8 tourney. He's a total clown.

last year i had this aim convo with a friend who plays on ub:

me: who the f*ck is hollywood dave?

So that makes 4 accounts that are probably his and possibly more? Is anyone gonna report this?

Dave is a friend of mine, I've said it before and I'll say it again - he is not a douchebag, he just plays one on TV.

Normally I dont post private conversations, but this is a rather unique situation, Dave got the short end of this stick and deserves to have his name cleared. It was obvious to me at the time that Dave was just protecting his Tilt identity because its a conflict of interest with his sponsorship at UB (I give him crap all the time for that sponsorship, but I understand his reasons even though i don't like it).

I know Dave as well, and he is NOT a douchebag IRL. His antics on tv were just a way to make tournament blackjack more exciting for the viewing audience, because they were trying to sell the idea to home viewers in the beginning... it's all about the ratings. If you just had people sitting there playing blackjack and cursing every time they busted like they do in casinos... nobody would watch.

It's no different than Phil Laak doing pushups on the WPT. These production companies highly encourage these types of things to make the boring product more entertaining.

I also don't know how many FTP accounts Dave has, but I constantly trade money from site to site with him, and in well over a year I've only sent to one account on every site, including FTP. So if he does have old accounts, he hasn't been using more than one anytime in the time I've known him.

Let's be honest here, how many of you guys have created a new account on FTP because your first one didn't have rakeback?

Ok I don't know what made me think there were two HD accounts last night, I could have sworn I saw two different sets of stats but I was mistaken, so disregard that.

HOWEVER...

"Hollywood Dave" stopped playing tournaments on 8/11/2008.

"One Level Deep" started playing tournaments on 8/13/2008.

Both accounts play extremely similar schedules.

We played the 1K horse for several hours today. I didnt bring up the thread because I didnt want it to affect his tourney.

My posting of his twitter was just a curiosity post; I couldnt understand why someone would post to thousands of followers that they had a "secret" account on full tilt.

I am sorry if I caused Hollywood Dave any harm in this. He has explained to me that when we used to play stud8 on Full tilt and he was Hollywood Dave or Hollywood_Dave, it was prior to his signing with UB. UB did not want him using the name Hollywood Dave on any other site, since he was a sponsored pro on UB as that name. About 2 years ago, he said he stopped using the name Hollywood Dave or Hollywood_Dave, and started a new account.

The reason he referred to it as his "secret" account, is because no one who had played with him as Hollywood Dave, knew that it was in fact the replacement account for the Hollywood Dave account.

He said he never multiaccounted, and has used the "secret" newer account exclusively for about 2 years.

I hope this clears this up, and if this is accurate, I accept that explanation.

Full Tilt allowed him to "replace" his Hollywood Dave account? Somehow I doubt that.
