Re: Why poker players should get to know Gary Johnson

I'll be voting for Johnson unless Ron Paul is on the ticket in the General Election in some capacity.

I don't think Gary Johnson is a favorite to win the Libertarian Party's nomination.

He's simply a candidate and will be up against several oppoennts at the Libertarian Party's convention.

I'm still holding out hope that Paul will run for the Libertarian Party nomination if he doesn't get the Republican nomination, but failing that I think Johnson has the inside track based on his name recognition (compared to other Libertarians running).

Re: Why poker players should get to know Gary Johnson

Currently, the campaign is looking at getting matching funds(we've hit the requirements in over half the states we need to reach the 20 mark). This will double all donations we get before the National Convention and provide a big funding boost for the campaign. It will also make him the first LP PotUS candidate to get matching funds in the primary. One of the states he is currently close on but not quite there yet is Nevada. Any NV residents on here that can chip in would be greatly appreciated. Up to $250 will be eligible for the matching funds effectively double donations of small donors. Anyone willing to give over $1,000 up to $2,500 per FEC rules can PM me and I can also set up a phone call with Gov. Johnson for you.

He's currently polling at 7-9% nationally and it takes 15% to get on the national debate stage with the GOP nominee and Obama. From there, that gets him national exposure and a platform to talk about issues.

Most in the LP have been supportive of his run. The LP is on track for 50 state ballot access. He WILL be the likely LP nominee. Paul WILL not be running in the LP and would have to drop before the LP National Convention in Las Vegas on May 2nd-7th in order to even attempt to do so, but most delegates are decided before then. The convention will be at Red Rocks Resort.

Personally, I will be attending as a delegate for Gov. Johnson and likely bringing some cash to hit the tables while I'm there as well.

Leaving aside politics and opinion ...

What national polls (that could be used as qualifiers for presidential debates) have GJ with 7-9% ???

Not sure where I saw it but there was poll that compared him against obama and romney and he polled at 9% in that poll. I'll try to dig it up.
