I could be wrong but I don't think any British players players have come close to picking up a bracelet at this year's WSOP.

I don't believe the general line that all British players suck. That's probably not logical and my guess is that 'home advantage' plays a huge part like it does in most sporting events.

Having to survive in the desert heat for any length of time can't be easy for anyone not used to it and must affect their ability to play competitive poker.

Take the example here of a British pro and his off-table struggles in Las Vegas -not only with the heat but with generally surviving in the place.

James Akenhead came second in a NLHE event (post in NVG went over the 10 4 vs AK hand) plus there are plenty of British players with big cashes.

Tabatabai's post just means they didn't spend the appropriate amount of time prepping for the trip. If they had, they'd have known that renting a car is a must if living off strip, and they'd have found one of the thousands of good-condition rental houses left over as a result of the real estate boom of 04-05.

You say home field advantage, I say spend ten minutes prepping for your summer long trip next time.

I played in a 4-8 triple draw game with some british guys last night. One of them was staying at the imperial palace for the entire wsop(!) Even Bear Grylls couldn't do that.

Tabatabai was runner up at the wsope main even last year and from what i saw a little unfortunate not to take it down (although the long heads up was covered in about 10 minutes and 2 hands by sky sports' coverage).
