could you say some more about this?
i haven't really seen RaiseOnce play and i'm eager to know how their styles are similar.

This is a comparison of their preflop play in HUNL. The only difference is the 3 bet% but it's not a huge difference. The key thing is the big blind stats. They are very unusual and I don't know of any other high stakes players who play anywhere near that loose out of position. They both also c-bet about 90% of flops and check-raise the flop over 25%.

Re: Who is RaiseOnce on PokerStars?

ben, can you do that for his play at limit holdem? I've played Ivey and RaiseOnce (but only a little bit each) and their styles seemed quite different. I'd like to see what the database says

Also, rumors for a while were that it was a shared account, so it could theoretically be Ivey some times but not others.

Nobody has suggested anyone else it realistically can be, none of the other players suggested play at all like raiseonce.
I don't believe that he plays exactly the same, how are you quantifying this? Just seems like someone suggested it and now everyone is just agreeing. Ivey obv is one of the most dynamic players in the world so to suggest you can identify exactly how he plays is pretty ridic.

The evidence that nobody has suggested anyone it could be is not valid evidence for it being Ivey.

Re: Who is RaiseOnce on PokerStars?

Look, what difference does it make to people if it's Phil Ivey or Tiger Woods for that matter?

There are tonnes of people out there it could be. Far to many to name in all honesty.

Because he isn't logged on for 23.5 hours a day, 8 days a week you lot seem to think it has to be Ivey.

Me personally? I don't believe it's Ivey for the following reasons;

1) He owns Full Tilt, or a large part of it. Why would he play on Stars? OK, he might of won 400k or so but thats probaly a weeks wage from Tilt. Why risk Howard papping him out of the sweetest deals in business to ship a tourney? It's not like he cant get action if he wants it.

2) On the same topic, you don't see the owner of GM Motors driving a Ferrari to work for exactly the same reason, even if he does it in private why take the risk and lose everything?

3) For all you clowns going on about his location? Who cares? Its not FTP and you can change your location to anywhere you fcuking like, you can ever admit to being American if you want for a joke!

4) It's clear that some poeple know who he is, do you think Ivey would risk this coming out? Losing his deal in FTP for the sake of a few quid? I doubt it!

5) The above stats are worthless, so what if you run a few stats through but most decent players have similar stats

I would laugh for a long while though if it turned out to be Ivey though as Howard would have a tough job on his hands although if he was smart he could easily use it to his advantage and run a few commercials laughing in the face of Stars, showing Ivey crushing Daniel and a few other Stars pro's but until this comes out it sadly wont happen!

I disagree with most of your points but in particular, why would he lose his deal if this came out? It's hardly a big scandal, ftp might not be very happy or they might not really care. Either way, I think there's absolutely no chance they'd drop their most talented and marketable pro -that would be a ridiculous decision.

Secondly most decent players do not have similar stats to that at all. The only other player who plays the same stakes and has at all similar HUNL stats to Ivey is raiseonce.

Phil Ivey is Full Tilt. They would no sooner drop him, than Doyles' Room dropping Doyle.
