Moneymaker was great because he appealed to everyman. If the game could luckbox another low stakes rec player with a little bit of appeal or charm it certainly couldn't hurt.

The Main Event is boring now so I am not sure who I want to win. Maybe Daniel or IVey would be nice to win but I don't think there is going to be another boom. I don't like the NOvember 9 at all the WSOP should just go back to having the final table the next day like they use to but they won't because there is more money and hype with the Nov 9. I don't even follow the WSOP anymore really because why would I? I don't play live and don't care to see people who are making a lot of money.

I think they're doing that this year; having the final table the next day and no more november nine.

Have you played live poker?

There's this attractive ~40 year old who plays live a lot where I play, she rolls with it, but she's essentially sexually harassed 25+ a night.
It's embarrassing

I love the idea of any "Boom" but I always get confused when people talk about the female boom. First, IMO, women are not going to give a single f*ck if a woman wins.
Unless, they're already rec-players.

Like my 30 year old sister and her friends aren't gonna be like, "Wow, a woman won? I'm gonna call a sitter and go grind some 1/3 on Friday night!"

I answered big-name, old-school pro with Ferguson in mind for all the reasons you state. At this point, not much can really be done.

If I answered seriously, though...

Count me in among those who would really like to see a woman win it. Count me out among those who actually thinks it would result in a second boom. It just wouldn't.

It's true that a woman winning wouldn't inspire a boom in getting more ladies to the tables, but many voted for a woman as it would be the "first time" and make news.
