One hour of the new PAD isn't one hour of interesting hands happening.
This post is partially correct. The "old PAD" showed every hand, including walks in the blinds and raise-and-take-it hands. You might be thinking of High Stakes Poker, which was the more traditional highlight-reel type of show. (But oh, what highlights.)
However, PAD had much of the unnecessary pauses edited out. So this would include breaks in general, but also saw perhaps a 60-second tank get trimmed down to 20 ticks (still long enough to convey the thinking process, but short enough not to encourage a channel change).
Still, your overall post is right: a minute of new PAD is not the same as old PAD.
