I didn't know who this guy was before yesterday but I saw an interesting hand between him and Antonio Esfandiari go down at the featured table. I was watching from the Jack Links viewing platform so I don't know the values of what they were betting. It went like this, though:

-Table folds around to the blinds.
-SB (Moon) raises.
-BB (Antonio) calls.
-Flop comes Q33 rainbow.
-Moon checks.
-Antonio bets.
-Moon raises.
-Antonio raises a million more.
-Moon moves all-in.
-Antonio quickly folds.

Nobody showed their cards and I'm really curious as to what Moon held. I'm hoping they'll show it on ESPN.

I saw some hands on pokernews updates and I got the impression (by the way it was played) of him being fairly donkish but there could be reasons for him calling with junk hands OOP in the sb to 3 bets. Anyway his interview he gave talking about folding KK etc. seemed either like a genius level or another Jamie Gold/Jerry Yang disaster about to happen.

I know he is running at least if not hotter then gold did going into the FT. Anyway he did something right to get that far regardless. GL to them all.

QQ+/AQ? I'd say AQ but we'll probably see.

Thus far, Moon has been the biggest luckbox of this WSOP and perhaps in main event history, next to Hal Fowler in 1979.
I seriously hope you were high when you wrote this, because if you were of sound mind upon writing something so asinine, you're clearly in need of special education classes/life coaching...

disclaimer: i've played a bunch live with Jordan Smith, the N9 bubble-boy thanks to Moon cracking his aces, so I'm a little perturbed with Mr. Moon, but you're just an idiot...

As someone who works for a PR company, I disagree.
He's a likeable, every day working man, and that's extremely marketable in the eyes of ANY company. The approach would be: "Anyone can come to Pokerstars and win $8 million by 'getting lucky' like Darvin Moon"...although they obviously wouldn't directly say that, packaging him that way is SUCH an easy sell.

Also, he's a heavy-set, white, middle aged man. From an appearance perspective, he's extremely easy to relate to by the general public.

Why aren't people comparing him to Dennis Phillips last year? I have my opinion, but not read to share yet.

everyday working, homegame playing middle-aged man runs super hot to hold monsta chiplead heading to the final table.

Would be scary if he gets AK against some1 aggro holding AQ, and misplay it.
deja vu

The interview with him is staggeringly bland. Possibly the dullest person in history. And I lolled at his commentary on his play, particularly the way he said "Quad QUEEEEEENS" like that was the most astounding thing ever.

For those that love to ask the "what happens if someone in the November Nine dies" question: if he returns to his job, his profession (logging) is the most dangerous job in the US.
