I could be wrong but I was 100% serious that I think he was winning during the WSOP. He played tons of hours and the games were good and he was playing tight and rarely tilting from what I saw.

that's pretty much my exact read on him too. does he not normally play like that?
Wow. Another respected guy. Maybe I haven't played with him in a too long. I have no respect for his game at all, but it is very possible that his "showdown" style plays much better at 1-2 than the 30 or the 15. It is also possible that he has gotten much better and soon plans on joining the ranks of his best friends Joe Cassidy and Phil Ivey. I just don't want to admit that I live in a world where this could possibly be the case. I'll be back later...gonna go cry for awhile.

After the Super Bowl, Teddy kept telling everyone how he was there for it and made a hundred grand selling tickets. I assumed he meant scalping, and I also assumed he didn't include the cost of the tickets in that figure.

During NBA all-star weekend, Teddy would sit in the poker games with some sort of security clearance type card around his neck. As it turns out, Teddy has quite the racket at big sporting events. He wears this counterfeit access pass around his neck, and stands outside the events. He charges people money to get into the event. So if they pay him, he'll just escort them into the arena/stadium with his fake pass or whatever it is.

As mentioned, Teddy is the king of ridiculous claims about poker winnings. Back when he was still playing 30/60, he claimed he pulled 300k per year out of the games.
Justin...you have no idea how upset I am that I didn't know about these scams! I tried to stay away during all-star weekend, I wish I could've seen his pass and asked him about it SOOOO bad.

I'm pretty sure that the only true thing out of his mouth is that he takes 300k plus out the games each year. He just forgets to remember that he has to buy-in (in multiples) everyday.

As a sidenote I should mention that Teddy and I have never really been the same since he asked me to loan him 2k after I left a the 30 session about 5 months ago. Somehow I was able to resist his charm and refused. Too bad.

Yeah, you would think after the 1st 300k year he would try and take a shot at the 60 instead of grinding out at 30. Must be a br nit.
When I was there in March he played the 60 game every day I was there during March Madness (about 10 days). So maybe as usual the truth lies in the middle and he had only ONE 300K year at the 30 game. Last year!

i played with him in a 30/60 game in march as well. i thought he was awful. i remembered him during this session from a 20/40 game in '06 during the wsop.

he also mentioned selling world series tickets to last years det/stl matchup. hilarious reading this thread.

Re: who was the big black guy at WSOP cash games?

Between him on my left and Warren Karp across from me in the 2K limit WSOP event I almost put a bullet in my head.

I thought he was really obnoxious and brought up unsolicited at least 10 times that he plays the 30/60 at Bellagio every night.
Kept name-dropping and trying to catch the attention of any pro-type player walking by.

He raised UTG with AQo, someone coldcalled, SB called, I called in BB with 55, flop K105, he called my flop CR, called my turn, and then folded face up when I bet the river 5 on the river. He then berated me over the next hour for calling with 55 preflop and kept saying I "would suck out on him again" every time we were in a hand together. Funny stuff.

More teddy stories and how he plays.....

I have played a ton with teddy. So here is my take on teddy. He is totally full of it. He goes up to poker celebs(to make himself look important to players at his table) and says hi. By doing that he probably has made some poker celeb friends. But his claims of how much money he makes and all that is total bull imo. And his game is not one i would call good lol. His "A" game is basically weak semi-tight. When he's not playing his "A" game he is fishy who chases to river all the time. Bluffs constantly all the way til river if given the chance. Raises with stuff like 107s early to middle. I wouldnt call him super-fish as he does tighten up sometimes usually becasue he's almost broke. But certainly not a limit specialist.

I've heard alot of the stories already told. Here are a couple recent ones i have heard...

He won like 300- 350k during the wsop playing side games 100-200 and some 200-400 at the rio. Also he had a piece of someone in a tournament that made him some money. So now he just chillin(as he put it) playing 60-120 at commerce.

Apparently there is a secret room in the high limit slots section at bellagio where if you tip the security guy there like 20 bucks you can take bellagio hookers back there. Teddy says he does this all the time. Not saying this couldn't be true but knowing teddy probably b.s.

oh btw his wife looks more like macy gray than beyonce. Not meaning to insult her she looks fine, but certainly not beyonce.

Re: who was the big black guy at WSOP cash games?

I should have mentioned he seems like an ok guy and we get along pretty well. i mean you got to get know him as if first meet him might think he's a whatever. But he is like a big teddy bear really once you get to know him(at least at the table. As i dont know him outside that arena) Although i wouldnt believe a word he says or lend him money. He may be good for it i dont really know. As i never gave him any. He has asked though.
