I would imagine so. He was a winning HS player so he must be killing it in sports to have moved on from poker. Good for him.

Almost everyone mentioned in this thread is post 2004-2005. How has nobody mentioned t_soprano (Brock Parker). He and erik123(the ultimate legend) were the top 2 lhe players. Lindgren & Ilari were PLO beasts. The count was always a losing player. There are a million people I'm missing (k rose? Some of the Norwegians.. Jarleaa(lol) and a bunch of others I forget. Custom(?) long live Bergen.

TexasLimitKing would have crushed FL right, I think it was around this era? One of the first poker hands I remember hearing about was that absurd call with 4 high beating 3 high or something.

Patrik ziig Lodden and a bunch of Swedes were the kings of Prima which had the biggest games in the world back then.

lagerborg is a broke degen today atleast(well "broke", he still plays higher than me and is probably doing real fine), but last I heard he owed lots of people and being a general douche at the live tables riding on his former glory. First hand info on the latter.

He did crush, but afaik he were a significant dog when lagerborg, erik123, purplhze(TLK) and a few others were regbattling 150/300 £ tables and the 300/600 $ tables.

I'm sure this wouldn't be the case in cash games, but am I correct in thinking you could put any one decent MTT reg still playing on Stars in the MTT's of 04-05, and they would crush?

Not saying cash games haven't evolved a lot too, or that the sickos of 04-05 MTT's wouldn't still be sickos, but I still think it would hold true.

I started playing my self during the summer 2002. The community was very small back then, basically most online players from Scandinavia knew each other by nickname.

I heard stuff back then that I know for a fact is true. Also I`ve heard more later as the years have gone by.

A lot of the swedes built their bankrolls playing the biggest game on Ladbrokes at that time, the 5-10 NL full ring. On a random day you would find 6-7-8 swedes sitting at the tables, and the rest whales. Don`t remember the names of all the whales, but StGeorge2 (UK) (Not sure it was a 2, but StGeorge followed by a number) was one of the biggest losers.

I know a player who would occasionally have a shot at 5-10NL. During one hand he called a re-raise with JJ against the biggest rock of the swedes (Yes, there were tight players even back then).

Flop came down K-J-3 rainbow. The rock bet, a raise or 2 back and forth and the guy went all-in with JJJ. The rock went into the tank. It was a big overbet.

In the very early days, this was how you found out if your hand was good or not, by raising for info. Very few, if any, were thinking about ranges. Typical the rock would let go of anything but 2 pair+ in this spot, at least against this player.

Suddenly he saw a MSN-window pop up. It was one of the other swedes at the tables asking him what he has. At that point of time he was suspicious that the swedes shared hole card info, but wasn`t 100% sure of it.

So he answered that he had AK. 10 seconds later the rock called it off with AA, and he won a massive pot.

now that you mention it, i remember reading a thread years ago about some new swedish account coming up and crushing and making absurd "reads" @NL10k on ladbrokes. i don't recall his username but it was reminiscent of KaiBuxxe (Buka... something?). two short words put together (1 syllable each) with one of them starting with a B, i'm quite certain. ring any bells?
