I just watched a few of the movies/documentaries named in this thread. In order of most liked to least liked:

1. Owning Mahowny- Don't read spoiler if you haven't seen the movie... (duhhh)

it's that Archie Karas true degen gambler instinct. The people who get up big like that don't stop because that's how they got up so big. a normal person would simply never get to 9 million to have the chance to stop

"Phoenix", with Ray Liotta and some other really good actors, is a super good movie that revolves around gambling.

Obviously, a movie like "The Hustler" is also completely epic, although not exactly what the OP requested.

Just watched Deal Me In. Some interesting people, but 90% were clueless people or people trying to parent the viewer about gambling is bad mmmkay?

Croupier is great imo, gives a nice view of how a dealer might look at the addicts.

Just saw Croupier (great atmosphere) and Owning Mahoney (great actor).

Gonna watch Breaking Even (2006) now

I have never heard of "California Split" but I will check it out.

The other two are just outstanding movies.
