What would happen if a player in the november 9 died? What would happen if a player in the november 9 died?

what if 1 person didnt show up for personal reasons and then the roof collapses during the first level and 7 people die leaving the table shortstack alive with 6BB.

That 1 person then has to catch a plane and get to Vegas as fast as possible to prevent the shortstack from blinding him out of the tournament - a true rat race!!

In before dead hand reference.

Basically they would blind him out. Happened to Stu Ungar(not death but hospitalized) and he was blinded for 1 1-2 days and still cashed i belevie. They would blind the player out, monies to families. 100% imo

this would be pretty bad for television. could you imagine every time it was deceased players turn to act, we would be reminded about his unfortunate death. it would be the worst final table ever and i myself wouldn't even want to watch.

1. all players get 9th payout payed soon as last day is finished.
2. I think this came out last year and they will just play 8 and the dead person will just get that 9th place like he had aldready gotten. So they will remove his stack from the final table.
3. This should be in wsop main event rules if anyone knows were you can find that please post it.

I suppose stack equity pay-off makes the most sense.

If you think in terms of other sports, say a Tennis final, would they make 3rd and 4th play for the 2nd guys spot?

It's quite different though as there are brackets...

What if two people die? Three, four?

Say the November Nine are eating dinner and a bomb goes off in the dining room, killing 5 of the 9 players. Of course, the other 4 survive because they were sitting at the children's table.

Then what happens?

I think this (or something like it) was asked of Jeffrey Pollock last year, and he essentially said it would fall under the "discretion of the tournament director" category.

But there is absolutely no way "the stack would be blinded off" is the correct answer.
They would never leave the stack of the deceased player on the table during the television broadcast.

Okk yeah i suppose that being blinded off would be seen as very disrespectful and almost dis tasteful. So i guess chip equity would be what would happen?

^ they could spin it in a nice way, with a nice memorial at his seat. Albeit, then you would have the jackass to his left: "Oh Johnny, where are you buddy? I think i'm gonna have to take your chips. I'm all in. Hahah. Gimme dem chips! I beat you all night baby! Look at this. I had seven-duece and you can't call me. I'm too alive for you baby."
