The WSOP ESPN3 stream is on break, and they're replaying some of the 2008 50k event which Scotty Nguyen beat Michael DeMichele heads up. I'm just wondering, whatever happened to DeMichele? I look up his recent cashes, and hes only had 4 cashes since he got 2nd in that event in 2008. He seems like a good playing with a good attitude and table presence, so why no tournament cashes? has he been playing cash games, or doing something besides poker?

If anybody can find it, he was looking for backing during this year's wsop in the marketplace. He talked about bad real estate investments and stuff of that manor. Not degening or gone off the deep end.

I was thinking the same thing when watching the 50k the other day. He seemed like a smart kid that handled himself well, I couldn't imagine that he had gone broke or anything like that.

prob a 1 hit wonder, poker competition has evolved a lot since 08 so he didn't really keep up after he won 2nd in horse, thats' like 1mil right there right?

yeah the way he handled himself when scottie was being so ridiculous was remarkable.And he seemed to be a really good poker player, too. I'm just surpised we haven't seen more of him since his '08 runner up finish...

IIRC, he was a solid player that got a bit to FPS'y at times, but I'd think he could/can/does grind out a decent living at cash.

His insistence upon changing the pronunciation of his last name seemingly on-the-spot during the 50k was a bit diva-ish though, (From Dee-Michelle to Dee-mick-ell-eee). We're not in old world Italy. I don't insist on people pronouncing my last name or-ork instead of Oh-rork.

He's TstoneMBD on here, btw.

the abuse Scotty gave him was just brutal. I doubt many people look at Scotty the same after that final table was aired. Shamefull to be playing this big event and cant control his drinking, sad human Scotty N.
