Ben86 tried to steal 15 Milky way bars from the store I used to work at. I made him pay for them, but he kept yawning loudly when I tried to tell him the price.

I'd love to hear a solid argument on why it is rational or morally obligatory to send the equivalent of one big blind to a fish (that you have no personal relationship with) because they requested it after stacking them.

Would also love to hear about all the online poker professionals who are engaging in this practice.

im a sucker, I have probably sent several hundred worth of euros to busto tards that beg in the tablechat, and many others have aswell. It´s not that uncommon as you made it out to be. I think it is insanity not to ship the man a hundo, urubu always pay vig for his flips, and if he also ends up losing his whole roll because of it, well uhm. a hundo in rakeback isnt that much to ask imo. It is just dry as ****.

Ben86 missed the poker book about keeping the fish happy. He is not obligated to do anything, but if he gives a little kick back to a fun player to keep them happy and coming back for more, it probably is in his own best interest to do it. It kinda seems nitty not to, considering the amount of money he has and the action he could risk losing in the future due to offending people.

Not sending urubu a fifty is just yet another example of Ben not giving up any EV, ever. It's likely part of the mentality that has made him #1, but also not exactly a likeable attritbute as far as life goes

It's still the sexiest form of poker imho, half dead or not.

It's such a shame with the whole rake thing, otherwise I'm sure we'd have plenty of matches due to people thinking they might have studied their way past some opponents etc. Sauce giving Doug action is cool for instance, that didn't seem too likely a while ago.

Also, how good is Baron at HUNL? Is the Jungle possibly still the GOAT? Unbeaten by Doug after all... So many questions!

Urubu is not a random fish, he was a grinder and a degen and would most likely use that $ to grind low stakes which he had done multiple times.Ben hasn`t stacked him in the game, they were flipping. Also Ben knew who urubu is b/c his thread was legendary back in the day and they likely flipped few times before as well.

I don`t think Ben is a "bad guy", per se but it shows he`s kinda oblivious to some things.
He gets mad at Doug for bragging about his winrate, but Doug earned that right by grinding the low stakes for years.

Ben didn't get mad over Dougs winrate because Doug bragged, Ben tried to get him to crossbook hu vs ike for 15bb/100 (or whatever it was). Ben chased the EV. It's what he does. He saw a spot to make money and he tried to grab it.

1. Money
2. EV
3. Money
4. EV
5. Money
6. EV
7. Maybe family
8. Money
9. EV
10. Friends

Don't think so, more likely he was just mad at the cocky faux hawk guy with the hot gf (his perception of Doug most likely), standing him up and leaving with his friends while he's in the bar by himself, and now has to listen to him bragging.Him saying "people like Doug think they don't have to wait for people like him", shows he has an inferiority complex most likely.

Were it not for "the rake thing", you would have ZERO matches.

It's the poker business; ain't no business, ain't no poker.

They could get rid of rake just at the nosebleeds to encourage action which they would profit from by it drawing attention to the site. That's probably worth more in the longrun than what they would rake imo.

he kinda did though, because he argued that the sample size was to small to properly ensure it, implying it was a decent chance he wasnt #1. and when doug said "yeah its small sample but im winning 10-15 bb/100 vs the best in the world all regs" and the classic SPOT ME 15bb VS IKE lashout as a comeback because he couldnt stand the bragigng faux hawk

Reputation matters. History matters. If you've spent your whole life having integrity and being honest, you get the benefit of the doubt.

If you've always tried to weasel every penny and every freeroll, you don't.

I think "gogo" shows what Berri thought he was betting.

Is it possible Berri is scamming? Sure, just very unlikely given all the facts. Ben owes $40K + $350 in court fees *pounds gavel* dismissed.
