Do I think he set out to intentionally freeroll Doug? I have no idea, but let's give him benefit of doubt and say he didn't, and he really thought
his partner would be OK with it. Still doesn't matter - net effect was a brain-drain freeroll, and that's shady.
Maintaining an impeccable reputation in the poker world isn't ONLY about not executing premeditated scams. It's also about having the intelligence and willingness to preemptively think about potential hiccups before you put someone else in a bad spot
, even if you didn't start out with any malicious intent. If we're talking about some unforeseeable black swan event
that no one could reasonably see coming, then maybe there can be some lenience. But this situation doesn't come close to that...if you've got a PLO partner who may object to you sharing intel, ask him if it's OK before you have the counterparty deliver his half of the bargain, FFS!
